Senior campers residing in Branchburg, NJ, have the privilege of experiencing Oak Crest’s extensive array of activities, including thrilling day trips such as the highly anticipated visit to Dorney Park. These campers have the opportunity to engage in a wide variety of activities, with the option to explore more advanced choices. Notable highlights of the summer program for seniors encompass ‘Late Nights,’ which offer extended camp access, featuring a special dinner, additional swim sessions, enhanced gaming opportunities, a distinctive event, and a twilight campfire complete with the delectable addition of S’mores.
Senior Athletics
At our Branchburg, NJ location, senior campers are immersed in a diverse range of athletic pursuits, taking place on our full-sized fields. Each week, our comprehensive schedules feature an array of sports including Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. These activities are led by dedicated Athletic Specialists who structure each session to include skill instruction followed by gameplay, reinforcing the newly acquired skills. Our Oak Crest counselors actively engage with campers, collaborating closely with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
Furthermore, our Senior Boys and Girls actively participate in League Play as an integral part of their schedules. This involves friendly competitions in Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball, with rotating activities and opponents on a weekly basis, enhancing the overall camp experience.
Creative Arts
Located in Branchburg, NJ, our program offers a rich array of artistic activities for your child, taking place in air-conditioned classrooms and guided by experienced art instructors. Each week, campers can explore a variety of creative endeavors, including Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Furthermore, our Senior Girl groups take center stage with a showcase dance routine in our annual Showcrest, a significant Dance and Drama Production. Traditionally held during the 6th week of camp at a local venue, this event is enhanced with professional sound and lighting, providing campers with a memorable and impactful experience.
Learn to Swim
In Branchburg, NJ, Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program is an integral component of the Oak Crest experience, taking place in a state-of-the-art aquatic facility. Seniors have exclusive access to the impressive Gigantic Pool, equipped with eight 25m lanes.
Every morning, Senior campers engage in a 40-minute swim lesson, overseen by certified swim instructors and supported by group counselors. Our swim lessons are skill-based, not age-dependent, allowing us to challenge swimmers at various proficiency levels. We take pride in annually training and certifying our own instructors, drawing from over 25 years of practical expertise in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, Senior Campers return to the pools for Free Swim, further enhancing their aquatic experience.
Ropes Courses
Located in Branchburg, NJ, our Senior campers enjoy weekly participation in both the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course. The Climbing Tower boasts two distinct rock walls, a 200-yard Zipline, a Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and the exhilarating Giant Swing. Meanwhile, the High Ropes course offers additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course.
Safety is our top priority. Our ropes courses undergo thorough inspection and certification before each season by the company responsible for their construction. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who expertly guide the groups through all courses, conduct daily safety checks to ensure a secure and exhilarating experience.
Choice
Branchburg, NJ offers a unique Choice period, allowing campers to pick an activity for the week from a rotating list. Each week, campers can explore a new activity from a dynamic selection that spans both athletic and creative options. Additionally, Seniors have the exclusive opportunity to engage in our annual Drama Production or take part in the special Dance routine, collectively known as Showcrest. The Senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as standout highlights of the event.
Social Development
Branchburg, NJ’s Oak Crest program offers supervised team-building challenges and competitions throughout the summer, guided by our camp counselors. These collective experiences are designed to impart valuable lessons in collaboration, mutual support, and effective communication. The active involvement of counselors and the dynamics within each group foster respect and facilitate the development of lasting friendships among campers.
