Seniors (5th & 6th Graders) Summer Camp near Bridgewater
Senior campers residing in Bridgewater, NJ, have the privilege of enjoying Oak Crest’s extensive array of activities, which includes exciting day trips like the highly anticipated visit to Dorney Park. These campers can actively engage in a wide spectrum of activities and select from more advanced options. Among the highlights of the summer program for seniors are ‘Late Nights,’ offering extended camp hours for a special dinner, extra swim time, additional games, a distinctive event, and a twilight campfire complete with S’mores.
Senior Athletics
At our Bridgewater, NJ facility, senior campers engage in a wide spectrum of athletic activities conducted on our full-sized fields. The weekly schedules feature sports like Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. These sessions are led by specialized athletic instructors who provide skill instruction followed by gameplay designed to reinforce the newly acquired skills. Oak Crest counselors actively participate alongside the campers, collaborating closely with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
Furthermore, Senior Boys and Girls incorporate League Play into their schedules, engaging in friendly competitions encompassing Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball. These activities feature rotating opponents and a variety of games each week.
Creative Arts
Located in Bridgewater, NJ, our program offers a rich variety of artistic activities for your child to explore, all conducted in comfortable air-conditioned classrooms under the guidance of experienced art teachers. Weekly sessions encompass a wide array of disciplines, including Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Furthermore, our Senior Girl groups have the opportunity to showcase their talent in a dance routine during our annual Showcrest, a significant Dance and Drama Production. This noteworthy event, traditionally scheduled for the 6th week of camp at a local venue, features professional sound and lighting to create a truly impactful experience.
Learn to Swim
In Bridgewater, NJ, Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program serves as a cornerstone of the Oak Crest experience, utilizing a state-of-the-art aquatic facility. Seniors have exclusive access to the impressive Gigantic Pool, which boasts eight 25m lanes.
Each morning, seniors participate in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with additional support from group counselors. Our swim lessons prioritize skill development rather than age, enabling us to challenge swimmers at various proficiency levels. We take pride in annually training and certifying our own instructors, leveraging over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, senior campers return to the pools for Free Swim.
Ropes Courses
In Bridgewater, NJ, our senior campers engage in weekly adventures on the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course. The Climbing Tower boasts two unique rock walls, a thrilling 200-yard Zipline, a challenging Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and the exhilarating Giant Swing. Meanwhile, the High Ropes course offers additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course.
We prioritize safety, conducting thorough inspections and certifications of our ropes courses before each season, carried out by the company responsible for their construction. Moreover, our certified ropes instructors, who guide the groups through all the courses, diligently perform daily safety checks to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience.
Choice
Located in Bridgewater, NJ, our camp offers a unique Choice period where campers can pick an activity for the week from a rotating list. Each week, campers have the chance to explore a new activity from a diverse selection that includes both athletic and creative options.
Furthermore, seniors have the exclusive opportunity to partake in our annual Drama Production or join the special Dance routine, collectively known as Showcrest. The Senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as standout highlights of the show.
Social Development
Located in Bridgewater, NJ, our camp program includes a series of team-building challenges and competitions throughout the summer, all under the attentive supervision of our camp counselors. These collective experiences offer invaluable lessons in collaboration, mutual support, and effective communication.
