Seniors (5th & 6th Graders) Summer Camp near Fords
Fords, NJ senior campers at Oak Crest benefit from a wide array of activities, including popular day trips such as the visit to Dorney Park. They can engage in a variety of activities and select from advanced options. Highlights for seniors during the summer include Late Nights, offering extended camp access with special dinners, extended swim hours, additional games, unique events, and twilight campfires featuring S’mores.
Senior Athletics
In Fords, NJ, our senior campers at Oak Crest immerse themselves in a diverse array of athletic pursuits on our expansive fields. Their weekly schedules encompass a wide spectrum of sports, including Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. These activities are led by experienced Athletic Specialists, with each session featuring skill instruction followed by gameplay designed to reinforce the newly acquired skills. Oak Crest counselors actively engage with campers, working in collaboration with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
Furthermore, Senior Boys and Girls add an exciting element to their schedules through League Play, featuring friendly competitions in sports like Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball. This includes rotating activities and opponents each week, enhancing the overall experience.
Creative Arts
In Fords, NJ, your child will have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of artistic activities conducted in air-conditioned classrooms, under the guidance of experienced art teachers. Each week, they can explore activities such as Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Additionally, Senior Girl groups have the chance to showcase their talents in a dance routine during our annual Showcrest event, a significant Dance and Drama Production. Traditionally held during the 6th week of camp at a local venue, Showcrest features professional sound and lighting, creating a memorable and impactful experience for all involved.
Learn to Swim
Located in Fords, NJ, Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program is a fundamental component of the camp experience, making use of a state-of-the-art aquatic facility. Seniors enjoy access to the impressive Gigantic Pool, featuring eight 25m lanes.
Every morning, senior campers engage in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with support from group counselors. Our swim lessons prioritize skill development over age, allowing us to challenge swimmers at various proficiency levels. We take pride in annually training and certifying our own instructors, leveraging over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, senior campers return to the pools for Free Swim.
Ropes Courses
In Fords, NJ, senior campers at Oak Crest engage in weekly adventures on the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course. The Climbing Tower offers two distinct rock walls, a thrilling 200-yard Zipline, a challenging Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and an exhilarating Giant Swing. The High Ropes course features additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course.
Our commitment to safety is paramount. Before each season, our ropes courses undergo rigorous inspection and certification by the company responsible for their construction. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who guide campers through all the courses, perform daily safety checks to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience.
Choice
In Fords, NJ, our campers enjoy the flexibility of the Choice period, where they can pick a weekly activity from a rotating list. Each week, campers have the chance to explore a new activity from a diverse list that spans both athletic and creative pursuits.
For our Senior campers, there are even more exciting options. They can choose to participate in our annual Drama Production or join the special Dance routine, collectively known as Showcrest. These Senior performances consistently shine as standout highlights of our camp’s showcase.
Social Development
