Seniors (5th & 6th Graders) Summer Camp near Green Brook
Senior campers in Green Brook, New Jersey, have the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in Oak Crest’s extensive array of activities, including thrilling day trips like the highly anticipated visit to Dorney Park. They can engage in a wide spectrum of activities and opt for more advanced options. Notable highlights for seniors during the summer include ‘Late Nights,’ offering extended camp access with special dinners, extra swim sessions, additional games, exclusive events, and a twilight campfire experience complete with S’mores.
Senior Athletics
At our Green Brook, NJ location, senior campers partake in a wide spectrum of athletic activities held on our full-sized fields. Their weekly schedules encompass sports such as Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. These activities are led by dedicated Athletic Specialists who provide skill instruction followed by gameplay to reinforce newly acquired skills. Oak Crest counselors actively engage with campers, collaborating with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
Furthermore, Senior Boys and Girls incorporate League Play into their schedules, engaging in friendly competitions in Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball. These activities feature rotating opponents and games each week, adding a dynamic and competitive element to their camp experience.
Creative Arts
In Green Brook, NJ, your child will have the opportunity to participate in a rich variety of artistic activities conducted in air-conditioned classrooms under the guidance of experienced art teachers. The weekly sessions encompass a wide range of creative pursuits, including Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature exploration, Camper vs. Wild adventures, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Furthermore, as part of our program, all Senior Girl groups showcase a dance routine in our annual Showcrest, a significant Dance and Drama Production. This prominent event, traditionally held during the 6th week of camp at a local venue, incorporates professional sound and lighting to provide an impactful and memorable experience for both participants and spectators.
Learn to Swim
Green Brook, NJ’s Oak Crest offers a comprehensive Learn to Swim Program, which serves as a fundamental component of the Oak Crest experience, leveraging a state-of-the-art aquatic facility. Senior campers enjoy exclusive access to the impressive Gigantic Pool, featuring eight 25-meter lanes.
Each morning, seniors participate in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with support from group counselors. Our swim lessons prioritize skill development rather than age, ensuring that swimmers are appropriately challenged based on their proficiency level. We take pride in annually training and certifying our own instructors, drawing upon over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, senior campers have the opportunity for Free Swim, further enhancing their aquatic experience.
Ropes Courses
In Green Brook, NJ, our senior campers engage in thrilling outdoor adventures with weekly sessions on the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course. The Climbing Tower boasts two distinct rock walls, a 200-yard Zipline, a Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and the exhilarating Giant Swing. Meanwhile, the High Ropes course offers additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course.
Safety is paramount in our program. Before each season, our ropes courses undergo rigorous inspection and certification by the company responsible for their construction. Moreover, our certified ropes instructors, who guide the groups through all courses, conduct daily safety checks to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience for our campers.
Choice
In Green Brook, NJ, our campers enjoy a variety of choices during the Choice period, allowing them to select an activity for the week from a rotating list. Each week, campers have the flexibility to choose a new activity from a dynamic roster that spans both athletic and creative pursuits.
Furthermore, senior campers have the unique opportunity to either participate in our annual Drama Production or join the special Dance routine, collectively referred to as Showcrest. These Senior performances consistently shine as standout highlights of our overall program, showcasing their talents and creativity.
Social Development
