Seniors (5th & 6th Graders) Summer Camp near Hillsborough
At Oak Crest in Hillsborough, NJ, senior campers have exclusive access to a wide array of activities, including thrilling day trips like the highly-anticipated visit to Dorney Park. They can also engage in a diverse range of activities, with the option to explore more advanced choices. Highlights of the summer for our senior campers include ‘Late Nights,’ which offer extended camp hours, a special dinner, additional swim time, extra games, a unique event, and a twilight campfire featuring S’mores.
Senior Athletics
At Hillsborough, NJ, our senior campers enjoy a comprehensive array of athletic activities on our expansive full-sized fields. Each week, they engage in a variety of sports, including Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. Our Athletic Specialists lead each session, providing skill instruction followed by gameplay to reinforce the newly acquired skills. Oak Crest counselors actively participate alongside campers, working closely with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success. In addition, our Senior Boys and Girls incorporate League Play into their schedules, which involves friendly competitions in Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball, with activities and opponents rotating each week.
Creative Arts
Located in Hillsborough, NJ, our program offers your child a rich variety of artistic experiences in comfortable, air-conditioned classrooms, led by seasoned art instructors. Each week, campers can explore a diverse range of artistic pursuits, including Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more. Additionally, our Senior Girl groups take center stage with a dance routine showcased in our annual event, Showcrest. This significant Dance and Drama Production, typically held during the 6th week of camp at a local venue, is enhanced with professional sound and lighting to provide an impactful experience for all involved.
Learn to Swim
In Hillsborough, NJ, Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program is a cornerstone of our camp experience, taking place in our state-of-the-art aquatic facility. Seniors at our camp have exclusive access to the impressive Gigantic Pool, boasting eight 25m lanes. Each morning, seniors participate in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with additional support from group counselors. Our swim lessons are skill-based rather than age-dependent, allowing us to cater to swimmers of varying proficiency levels. We take pride in annually training and certifying our own instructors, drawing upon over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, Senior Campers return to the pools for Free Swim.
Ropes Courses
In Hillsborough, NJ, our Senior campers engage in weekly adventures on our Climbing Tower and High Ropes course. The Climbing Tower boasts two unique rock walls, a thrilling 200-yard Zipline, a challenging Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and an exhilarating Giant Swing. Meanwhile, our High Ropes course offers additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course. To ensure the utmost safety, our ropes courses undergo meticulous inspection and certification by the company responsible for their construction before each season. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who expertly guide campers through all the courses, conduct daily safety checks to maintain a secure and enjoyable experience.
Choice
Located in Hillsborough, NJ, during the Choice period, our campers have the freedom to select a weekly activity from a rotating list. This dynamic list offers a diverse range of options, encompassing both athletic and creative pursuits. Campers have the opportunity to explore new activities each week, fostering variety and growth in their interests. Additionally, our Senior campers can opt to participate in our annual Drama Production or join the special Dance routine, collectively known as Showcrest. The Senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as standout highlights of our camp’s artistic showcases.
Social Development
