Seniors (5th & 6th Graders) Summer Camp near Manville
Manville, NJ’s senior campers at Oak Crest Camp have the privilege of enjoying a wide array of activities, including exciting day trips like the highly sought-after visit to Dorney Park. They have the opportunity to participate in a diverse range of activities, some of which are more advanced in nature. Notable events during the summer season for seniors include “Late Nights,” which grant extended camp access for a special dinner, additional swimming time, extra games, a distinctive event, and a twilight campfire featuring delicious S’mores.
Senior Athletics
Seniors at our Manville, NJ location engage in a wide range of athletic pursuits within the expansive confines of our full-sized fields. The weekly schedules are thoughtfully curated to encompass sports such as Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and various others. These activities are expertly led by our Athletic Specialists, with each session featuring skill instruction followed by gameplay geared towards reinforcing the newly acquired skills. Importantly, our Oak Crest counselors actively participate alongside the campers, fostering collaboration with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
Furthermore, Senior Boys and Girls have the added benefit of incorporating League Play into their schedules. This entails friendly competitions in sports like Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball, with rotating activities and opponents on a weekly basis.
Creative Arts
In Manville, NJ, your child will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a wide array of artistic endeavors, all conducted in comfortable, air-conditioned classrooms under the guidance of experienced art instructors. Our weekly sessions encompass a diverse range of activities, including Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature exploration, Camper vs. Wild adventures, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and many more.
Additionally, it’s noteworthy that all Senior Girl groups participate in a special showcase, contributing a dance routine to our annual event known as “Showcrest.” This significant Dance and Drama Production is a cherished tradition, typically held during the 6th week of camp at a local venue. The event boasts professional sound and lighting, ensuring an impactful and memorable experience for all involved.
Learn to Swim
In Manville, NJ, Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program is a cornerstone of our camp experience, and it operates within a state-of-the-art aquatic facility. Seniors have exclusive access to the impressive Gigantic Pool, equipped with eight 25-meter lanes.
Every morning, our Senior campers engage in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with the additional support of group counselors. These swim lessons are tailored to individual skills rather than age, ensuring that swimmers of all proficiency levels are appropriately challenged. It’s worth noting that we annually train and certify our own instructors, drawing upon more than 25 years of hands-on experience in teaching children the art of swimming. In the afternoons, Senior Campers return to the pools for Free Swim, providing them with further opportunities to enjoy and practice their swimming abilities.
Ropes Courses
In Manville, NJ, our Senior campers are provided with the opportunity to engage in weekly adventures at the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course. The Climbing Tower is a thrilling attraction, offering two distinct rock walls, a 200-yard Zipline, a Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and an exhilarating Giant Swing. Meanwhile, the High Ropes course presents additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course.
Safety is our utmost priority, and as such, our ropes courses undergo rigorous inspection and certification before each season, overseen by the company responsible for their construction. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who expertly guide the groups through all courses, conduct daily safety checks to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience for our campers.
Choice
In Manville, NJ, during the Choice period, campers have the flexibility to choose their preferred activity for the week from a regularly rotating list. Each week, campers can select a new activity from a dynamic list that offers a diverse array of both athletic and creative options.
Moreover, our Senior campers enjoy the added privilege of participating in our annual Drama Production or joining the special Dance routine, collectively known as Showcrest. The Senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as standout highlights of our camp’s artistic and creative endeavors.
Social Development
