Seniors (5th & 6th Graders) Summer Camp near Martinsville
Senior campers in Martinsville, NJ, have the privilege of enjoying the full spectrum of activities offered at Oak Crest. This includes exciting day trips such as the highly sought-after visit to Dorney Park. Senior campers have the flexibility to participate in a wide array of activities and even opt for more advanced options. The standout summer events for seniors encompass ‘Late Nights,’ an exclusive offering that extends camp hours to include a special dinner, extra swim time, additional games, a unique event, and a twilight campfire complete with the beloved S’mores.
Senior Athletics
Seniors at our Martinsville, NJ location are actively involved in a diverse range of athletic pursuits on our expansive full-sized fields. Weekly schedules are thoughtfully curated to include a wide spectrum of sports, including Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. These sessions are led by experienced Athletic Specialists who provide skill instruction and follow it up with gameplay designed to reinforce the newly acquired skills. Oak Crest counselors actively engage with campers, collaborating with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
Furthermore, Senior Boys and Girls have the chance to participate in League Play, which is seamlessly integrated into their schedules. This involves friendly competitions in Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball, with a rotation of activities and opponents each week.
Creative Arts
In Martinsville, NJ, your child will have the opportunity to explore a rich variety of artistic activities in comfortable, air-conditioned classrooms, led by seasoned art instructors. The weekly sessions encompass a wide range of creative pursuits, including Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Furthermore, as part of our Senior Girl groups’ experience, they have the chance to showcase their talents in a dance routine during our annual Showcrest, a prominent Dance and Drama Production. This significant event, traditionally held during the 6th week of camp at a local venue, boasts professional sound and lighting to create a truly impactful and memorable experience.
Learn to Swim
In Martinsville, NJ, Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program is a fundamental component of the Oak Crest experience, making use of a state-of-the-art aquatic facility that includes the impressive Gigantic Pool with eight 25m lanes.
Each morning, seniors participate in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with additional support from group counselors. Our swim lessons are skill-based rather than age-dependent, allowing us to challenge swimmers at various proficiency levels. We take pride in annually training and certifying our own instructors, drawing from over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, senior campers have the opportunity to enjoy Free Swim in the pools.
Ropes Courses
In Martinsville, NJ, our senior campers regularly engage in exhilarating adventures on the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course. The Climbing Tower boasts two distinct rock walls, a thrilling 200-yard Zipline, a challenging Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and an exciting Giant Swing. Meanwhile, the High Ropes course offers additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course.
Safety is our utmost priority, and to ensure it, our ropes courses undergo thorough inspection and certification before each season, conducted by the company responsible for their construction. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who lead the groups through all the courses, perform daily safety checks to guarantee a secure and enjoyable experience for our campers.
Choice
In Martinsville, NJ, during the Choice period, our campers have the freedom to select an activity for the week from a regularly updated list of options. Each week, campers can explore new activities from a diverse and ever-evolving list that encompasses both athletic and creative pursuits. Additionally, our senior campers have the unique opportunity to take part in our annual Drama Production or be part of a special Dance routine, collectively known as Showcrest. The senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as standout highlights of the show.
Social Development
