Seniors (5th & 6th Graders) Summer Camp near Metuchen

They have the opportunity to engage in a diverse selection of activities, with the option to explore more advanced options. Notable highlights for senior campers during the summer include ‘Late Nights,’ which offer extended camp access for a special dinner, additional swim time, extra games, a unique event, and a twilight campfire featuring S’mores.
Senior Athletics
In Metuchen, NJ, our senior campers participate in a diverse range of athletic activities on our full-sized fields. Their weekly schedules encompass sports such as Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. These activities are led by Athletic Specialists, and each session includes skill instruction followed by gameplay aimed at reinforcing the newly acquired skills. Our Oak Crest counselors actively engage with campers, collaborating with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
Furthermore, Senior Boys and Girls incorporate League Play into their schedules, featuring friendly competitions in Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball. The activities and opponents rotate weekly, enhancing the overall experience and fostering camaraderie among campers.
Creative Arts

Our weekly sessions encompass a wide range of options, including Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Furthermore, our Senior Girl groups take center stage with a captivating dance routine showcased in our annual event, Showcrest. Held traditionally during the 6th week of camp at a local venue, this significant Dance and Drama Production is enhanced with professional sound and lighting to create a truly impactful and memorable experience.
Learn to Swim
In Metuchen, NJ, Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program is a cornerstone of the Oak Crest experience, making use of a state-of-the-art aquatic facility. Seniors enjoy access to the impressive Gigantic Pool, which boasts eight 25m lanes.
Each morning, Seniors engage in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with additional support from group counselors. Our swim lessons prioritize skill development over age-based grouping, allowing us to challenge swimmers at various proficiency levels. We take pride in annually training and certifying our own instructors, drawing upon more than 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, Senior Campers have the opportunity to return to the pools for Free Swim.
Ropes Courses
In Metuchen, NJ, our Senior campers engage in weekly adventures on the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course, offering a thrilling experience. The Climbing Tower boasts two distinct rock walls, a 200-yard Zipline, a Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and the exhilarating Giant Swing. Meanwhile, the High Ropes course presents additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a cutting-edge High Ropes Confidence Course.
We prioritize safety, ensuring our ropes courses undergo thorough inspection and certification before each season by the company responsible for their construction. Moreover, our certified ropes instructors, who expertly guide the groups through all the courses, conduct daily safety checks to maintain a secure and enjoyable experience for all participants.
Choice
In Metuchen, NJ, our campers enjoy a unique experience during the Choice period, where they have the freedom to select an activity for the week from a rotating list. Each week presents campers with the opportunity to explore a new activity from a diverse and ever-changing list, featuring a wide range of athletic and creative options.
In addition to these choices, our Senior campers have the exclusive chance to partake in our annual Drama Production or participate in the special Dance routine, collectively known as Showcrest. These Senior performances consistently shine as standout highlights of our program, showcasing their talents and dedication.
