Seniors (5th & 6th Graders) Summer Camp near Middlesex
Senior campers in Middlesex, NJ, have the privilege of enjoying an array of activities at Oak Crest, with exciting day trips like the popular visit to Dorney Park being a highlight. They can explore a wide spectrum of activities, with the option to choose more advanced options as well. Special events for seniors this summer include Late Nights, offering extended camp access for an exclusive dinner, additional swim time, extra games, unique events, and a twilight campfire complete with S’mores.
Senior Athletics
Seniors at our Middlesex, NJ camp engage in a diverse array of athletic activities on our full-sized fields. Their weekly schedules include sports such as Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. Led by dedicated Athletic Specialists, each session begins with skill instruction and is followed by gameplay designed to reinforce the newly acquired skills. Oak Crest counselors actively participate alongside campers, working in collaboration with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
Furthermore, Senior Boys and Girls incorporate League Play into their schedules, involving friendly competitions in Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball. These activities rotate each week, providing campers with varied challenges and opponents to enhance their overall experience.
Creative Arts
In Middlesex, NJ, your child will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a wide range of artistic activities, all conducted in comfortable, air-conditioned classrooms under the guidance of experienced art teachers. Our weekly sessions encompass a variety of creative pursuits, including Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature exploration, Camper vs. Wild adventures, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and much more.
Additionally, for Senior Girl groups, there’s an exciting opportunity to showcase their talent through a dance routine in our annual Showcrest. This grand Dance and Drama Production is a significant event, traditionally held during the 6th week of camp at a local venue, featuring professional sound and lighting to create a truly impactful and memorable experience.
Learn to Swim
Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program in Middlesex, NJ, is a cornerstone of our camp experience, making use of a state-of-the-art aquatic facility, including the impressive Gigantic Pool with eight 25m lanes exclusively available to our seniors.
Every morning, senior campers engage in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with additional support from group counselors. Our swim lessons prioritize skill development rather than age, enabling us to challenge swimmers at various proficiency levels. We take pride in annually training and certifying our own instructors, drawing upon over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, senior campers return to the pools for Free Swim, further enhancing their aquatic abilities.
Ropes Courses
In Middlesex, NJ, our senior campers enjoy weekly adventures on the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course. The Climbing Tower boasts two distinct rock walls, a thrilling 200-yard Zipline, a Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and the exhilarating Giant Swing. Meanwhile, the High Ropes course offers more rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a cutting-edge High Ropes Confidence Course.
To prioritize safety, our ropes courses undergo thorough inspection and certification by the company responsible for their construction before each season. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who expertly guide the groups through all the courses, conduct daily safety checks to ensure a secure and exciting experience for our campers.
Choice
In Middlesex, NJ, our campers have the freedom to choose their weekly activities during the Choice period. Each week, they can select a new activity from a diverse and ever-evolving list that encompasses both athletic and creative options. Additionally, Seniors have the exclusive opportunity to either participate in our annual Drama Production or join the special Dance routine, collectively referred to as Showcrest. The Senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as standout highlights of the show.
Social Development
In Middlesex, NJ, our campers, under the guidance of our dedicated camp counselors, actively participate in team-building challenges and competitions throughout the summer. These collective experiences are designed to impart essential lessons on collaboration, mutual support, and effective communication.
