Seniors (5th & 6th Graders) Summer Camp near Neshanic Station
Neshanic Station, NJ’s senior campers at Oak Crest gain exclusive access to a wide array of activities, including exciting day trips like the highly sought-after Dorney Park visit. They have the opportunity to engage in a diverse range of activities and select from more advanced options. Standout summer events for seniors comprise ‘Late Nights,’ offering extended camp access for a special dinner, additional swim sessions, extra games, a unique event, and a twilight campfire complete with S’mores.
Senior Athletics
At our Neshanic Station, NJ location, our senior campers enjoy a diverse range of athletic activities on our full-sized fields. Weekly schedules feature sports such as Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. Our skilled Athletic Specialists lead each session, providing skill instruction followed by gameplay that reinforces newly acquired skills. Oak Crest counselors actively engage with campers, collaborating with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
In addition to the regular activities, Senior Boys and Girls incorporate League Play into their schedules, involving friendly competitions in Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball. These competitions rotate with different activities and opponents each week, adding an extra layer of excitement and variety to the camp experience.
Creative Arts
Located in Neshanic Station, NJ, your child will have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of artistic activities in air-conditioned classrooms, led by experienced art instructors. Our weekly sessions encompass activities such as Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Furthermore, all Senior Girl groups take part in an annual event known as Showcrest. Showcrest is a significant Dance and Drama Production traditionally held during the 6th week of camp at a local venue. This impressive production features professional sound and lighting, providing a truly impactful experience for both participants and the audience.
Learn to Swim
In Neshanic Station, NJ, Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program is a foundational component of the Oak Crest experience, conducted in a state-of-the-art aquatic facility. Seniors have exclusive access to the impressive Gigantic Pool, featuring eight 25m lanes.
Each morning, seniors participate in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with support from group counselors. Our swim lessons are skill-based, not age-dependent, allowing us to challenge swimmers at various proficiency levels. Annually, we train and certify our own instructors, drawing upon over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, senior campers return to the pools for Free Swim.
Ropes Courses
In Neshanic Station, NJ, seniors are actively engaged in the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course on a weekly basis. The Climbing Tower offers two distinct rock walls, a 200-yard Zipline, a Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and the Giant Swing for an exhilarating experience. The High Ropes course complements this adventure with additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course.
We prioritize safety, with our ropes courses undergoing thorough inspection and certification before each season by the company responsible for their construction. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who lead the groups through all courses, conduct daily safety checks to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience for our campers.
Choice
In Neshanic Station, NJ, the Choice period offers campers the opportunity to choose a weekly activity from a rotating list. Each week, campers can select a new activity from a diverse list that includes a variety of athletic and creative options. Additionally, Seniors can opt to participate in our annual Drama Production or be part of the special Dance routine, collectively referred to as Showcrest. The Senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as standout highlights of the show.
Social Development
In Neshanic Station, NJ, our camp counselors oversee and facilitate team-building challenges and competitions for our groups throughout the summer. These collective experiences are designed to impart valuable lessons in collaboration, mutual support, and effective communication. The group dynamics, coupled with active counselor involvement, promote respect within the group and facilitate the development of lasting friendships.
