Seniors (5th & 6th Graders) Summer Camp near Princeton Junction
Senior campers in Princeton Junction, NJ, have exclusive access to Oak Crest’s wide array of activities, including exciting day trips such as the highly anticipated visit to Dorney Park. They can engage in a variety of activities and select from more advanced options. The highlight events for senior campers during the summer include ‘Late Nights,’ which offer extended camp hours for a special dinner, additional swim time, extra games, a distinctive event, and a twilight campfire with the delightful addition of S’mores.
Senior Athletics
At our Princeton Junction, NJ facility, senior campers engage in a diverse range of athletic activities on full-sized fields. Their weekly schedules are packed with sports like Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. These sessions are led by Athletic Specialists who provide skill instruction followed by gameplay to reinforce the newly acquired skills. Oak Crest counselors actively participate alongside campers, collaborating with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
Additionally, senior boys and girls integrate League Play into their schedules, featuring friendly competitions in Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball. The activities and opponents rotate weekly, adding variety and excitement to their camp experience.
Creative Arts
In Princeton Junction, NJ, your child will have the opportunity to explore a wide array of artistic activities in air-conditioned classrooms, led by experienced art teachers. Weekly sessions encompass disciplines such as Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Furthermore, all Senior Girl groups participate in the annual Showcrest, a prominent Dance and Drama Production. This significant event, traditionally hosted during the 6th week of camp at a local venue, incorporates professional sound and lighting to create a truly impactful and memorable experience.
Learn to Swim
In Princeton Junction, NJ, Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program is a fundamental component of the Oak Crest experience, making use of a state-of-the-art aquatic facility. Senior campers enjoy access to the impressive Gigantic Pool, equipped with eight 25-meter lanes.
Every morning, seniors engage in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with additional support from group counselors. Our swim lessons are skill-based rather than age-dependent, allowing us to challenge swimmers at various proficiency levels. We annually train and certify our own instructors, drawing upon over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, senior campers return to the pools for Free Swim.
Ropes Courses
In Princeton Junction, NJ, our senior campers enjoy weekly participation in both the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course. The Climbing Tower offers two distinct rock walls, a thrilling 200-yard Zipline, a challenging Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and an exhilarating Giant Swing. The High Ropes course adds to the adventure with more rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course.
To prioritize safety, our ropes courses undergo thorough inspection and certification by the company responsible for their construction before each season. Additionally, our certified ropes instructors, who guide the groups through all courses, perform daily safety checks to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience for our campers.
Choice
In Princeton Junction, NJ, during the Choice period, campers have the flexibility to choose their weekly activity from a rotating list. Each week, campers can opt for a new activity from a diverse selection that encompasses both athletic and creative options. In addition to these choices, senior campers have the privilege to be part of our annual Drama Production or take part in the special Dance routine, collectively referred to as Showcrest. The senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as the standout highlights of the show.
Social Development
