Notable summer highlights for seniors encompass ‘Late Nights,’ extending camp hours for a special dinner, extra swimming, additional games, a distinctive event, and a twilight campfire featuring delicious S’mores.
Senior Athletics
At our South Bound Brook, NJ location, seniors engage in a diverse range of athletic pursuits on our full-sized fields. Weekly schedules feature a variety of sports, including Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. These activities are led by Athletic Specialists who guide each session with skill instruction followed by gameplay aimed at reinforcing newly acquired abilities. Oak Crest counselors actively participate alongside campers, working collaboratively with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
Furthermore, Senior Boys and Girls incorporate League Play into their schedules, which involves friendly competitions in Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball, featuring rotating activities and opponents on a weekly basis.
Creative Arts

Learn to Swim
In South Bound Brook, NJ, Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program is a fundamental component of the Oak Crest experience, making use of a state-of-the-art aquatic facility. Seniors enjoy access to the impressive Gigantic Pool, which boasts eight 25-meter lanes.
Each morning, Senior campers engage in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with additional support from group counselors. Our swim lessons are tailored to individual skill levels rather than age, allowing us to challenge swimmers at various proficiency levels. We take pride in annually training and certifying our own instructors, drawing from over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, Senior Campers return to the pools for Free Swim.
Ropes Courses
In South Bound Brook, NJ, our Senior campers engage in weekly activities at the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course. The Climbing Tower offers two distinct rock walls, a thrilling 200-yard Zipline, a challenging Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and an exhilarating Giant Swing. The High Ropes course extends the adventure with more rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a cutting-edge High Ropes Confidence Course.
We prioritize safety by subjecting our ropes courses to rigorous inspection and certification before each season, conducted by the company responsible for their construction. Moreover, our certified ropes instructors, who guide the groups through all courses, perform daily safety checks to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience for our campers.
Choice

For our Senior campers, there are additional opportunities to shine, including participation in our annual Drama Production or taking part in a special Dance routine, collectively known as Showcrest. The Senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as standout highlights of our program.
