Seniors (5th & 6th Graders) Summer Camp near South Plainfield

They can engage in a wide variety of activities, with the option to select more advanced choices. Noteworthy summer highlights for senior campers feature ‘Late Nights,’ offering extended camp hours for a special dinner, extended swim hours, additional games, exclusive events, and a twilight campfire complete with S’mores.
Senior Athletics
In South Plainfield, NJ, our senior campers at Oak Crest immerse themselves in a diverse array of athletic activities on our expansive, full-sized fields. Their weekly schedules are packed with sports like Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. Our dedicated Athletic Specialists lead each session, providing skill instruction followed by gameplay to reinforce the newly acquired skills. Our Oak Crest counselors actively engage with campers, collaborating closely with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
Furthermore, Senior Boys and Girls participate in League Play as part of their schedules. This entails friendly competitions in Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball, with rotating activities and opponents each week, enhancing their overall camp experience.
Creative Arts
Located in South Plainfield, NJ, your child will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of artistic activities in air-conditioned classrooms, all under the guidance of experienced art teachers. Our weekly sessions include engaging activities such as Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature exploration, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
In addition to these creative opportunities, Senior Girl groups take center stage in our annual Showcrest, a major Dance and Drama Production. Traditionally held during the 6th week of camp at a local venue, this significant event features professional sound and lighting, providing a truly impactful and memorable experience for both participants and spectators.
Learn to Swim
In South Plainfield, NJ, Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program stands as a fundamental component of our camp experience, utilizing a state-of-the-art aquatic facility, including the impressive Gigantic Pool with eight 25m lanes.
Every morning, senior campers engage in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with support from our group counselors. Our swim lessons are skill-based rather than age-dependent, ensuring that we challenge swimmers at their individual proficiency levels. We annually train and certify our own instructors, drawing upon over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, senior campers have the opportunity to enjoy Free Swim sessions in the pools.
Ropes Courses
In South Plainfield, NJ, our senior campers eagerly engage in the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course on a weekly basis. The Climbing Tower boasts two distinct rock walls, a thrilling 200-yard Zipline, a challenging Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and the exhilarating Giant Swing. Meanwhile, the High Ropes course offers additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course.
Ensuring the safety of our campers is our top priority. To achieve this, our ropes courses undergo thorough inspection and certification by the company responsible for their construction before each season. In addition, our certified ropes instructors, who guide and supervise the campers through all the courses, perform daily safety checks to maintain a secure and enjoyable experience.
Choice
Located in South Plainfield, NJ, during the Choice period, our campers have the freedom to choose an activity for the week from a regularly rotating list. Each week, campers can explore a new activity from our dynamic selection, which encompasses a wide array of both athletic and creative options.
Furthermore, our senior campers are presented with unique opportunities. They can take part in our annual Drama Production or participate in the special Dance routine, collectively known as Showcrest. These Senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as standout highlights of our camp’s showcase events.
Social Development
