Seniors (5th & 6th Graders) Summer Camp near West Windsor
Senior campers in West Windsor, New Jersey, have the privilege of experiencing Oak Crest’s extensive array of activities, which includes thrilling day trips like the highly-anticipated visit to Dorney Park. These seniors can engage in a wide spectrum of activities and select from more advanced options. Among the summer’s most notable events for seniors are the ‘Late Nights,’ offering extended camp access for a special dinner, additional swim time, extra games, a distinctive event, and a twilight campfire featuring the delicious treat of S’mores.
Senior Athletics
In West Windsor, New Jersey, our senior campers participate in a diverse range of athletic activities on our full-sized fields. Their weekly schedules encompass sports such as Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. These activities are led by dedicated Athletic Specialists, with each session focusing on skill instruction followed by gameplay to reinforce the newly acquired skills. Oak Crest counselors actively engage alongside campers, working collaboratively with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
In addition to these activities, Senior Boys and Girls also incorporate League Play into their schedules. This involves friendly competitions in Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball, with rotating activities and opponents each week.
Creative Arts
In West Windsor, New Jersey, your child will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a wide variety of artistic activities within air-conditioned classrooms, under the guidance of experienced art teachers. Our weekly sessions encompass a rich selection of options including Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Furthermore, our Senior Girl groups proudly present dance routines in our annual Showcrest, a significant Dance and Drama Production. This remarkable event, typically held during the 6th week of camp at a local venue, is equipped with professional sound and lighting, creating a truly impactful and memorable experience.
Learn to Swim
In West Windsor, New Jersey, Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program is a cornerstone of the Oak Crest experience, taking advantage of a state-of-the-art aquatic facility. Seniors enjoy access to the impressive Gigantic Pool, equipped with eight 25-meter lanes.
Each morning, Senior campers participate in a 40-minute swim lesson led by certified swim instructors, with the support of group counselors. Our swim lessons are skill-based rather than age-dependent, allowing us to challenge swimmers at various proficiency levels. Annually, we invest in the training and certification of our own instructors, drawing upon over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, Senior Campers return to the pools for Free Swim.
Ropes Courses
In West Windsor, New Jersey, Senior campers engage in weekly activities at the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course, providing them with thrilling outdoor experiences. The Climbing Tower boasts two distinct rock walls, a 200-yard Zipline, a Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and the exhilarating Giant Swing. The High Ropes course complements this adventure with additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course.
Safety is paramount in these activities. Prior to each season, our ropes courses undergo meticulous inspection and certification by the company responsible for their construction. Furthermore, our certified ropes instructors, who expertly guide the groups through all courses, perform daily safety checks to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience for all.
Choice
In West Windsor, New Jersey, our campers enjoy the flexibility of Choice periods, where they can select a weekly activity from a rotating list of options. Each week, campers can explore a new activity from a dynamic list that encompasses both athletic and creative pursuits.
For Seniors, there are special opportunities to shine. They can either participate in our annual Drama Production or join the special Dance routine, both of which are collectively known as Showcrest. The Senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently stand out as highlights of our camp’s creative showcases.
Social Development
