Seniors (5th & 6th Graders) Summer Camp near Whitehouse Station
Senior campers residing in Whitehouse Station, NJ, at Oak Crest are granted unrestricted access to a wide array of activities. This includes thrilling day trips like the highly anticipated excursion to Dorney Park. Seniors have the opportunity to engage in a diverse selection of activities, with advanced options available. A highlight of the summer for senior campers is the ‘Late Nights’ program, extending camp hours to include a special dinner, extended swim time, additional games, a distinctive event, and a twilight campfire with S’mores.
Senior Athletics
At our Whitehouse Station, NJ location, seniors participate in a wide range of athletic activities conducted on our full-sized fields. Our weekly schedules feature sports such as Soccer, Football, Tennis, Lacrosse, Archery, Basketball, Hockey, BMX, Skateboarding, and more. These sessions are led by experienced Athletic Specialists, with each session beginning with skill instruction, followed by gameplay to reinforce the newly acquired skills. Oak Crest counselors actively engage with campers, collaborating with specialists to create meaningful opportunities for success.
In addition to regular athletic activities, Senior Boys and Girls also include League Play in their schedules. This involves friendly competitions in Soccer, Handball, Football, and Dodgeball, with rotating activities and opponents each week.
Creative Arts
Located in Whitehouse Station, NJ, your child will have the opportunity to participate in a rich variety of artistic activities, all conducted in comfortable, air-conditioned classrooms, and guided by experienced art instructors. The weekly sessions encompass a wide spectrum of artistic pursuits, including Ceramics, Music, Mad Science, Cooking, Drama, Nature, Camper vs. Wild, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, Computers, and more.
Furthermore, our Senior Girl groups all take part in a special showcase – the annual Showcrest, a significant Dance and Drama Production. This grand event, traditionally held during the 6th week of camp at a local venue, features professional sound and lighting, delivering a truly impactful and memorable experience for participants and spectators alike.
Learn to Swim
In Whitehouse Station, NJ, Oak Crest’s Learn to Swim Program is a fundamental component of the Oak Crest experience, leveraging a state-of-the-art aquatic facility. Seniors enjoy access to the impressive Gigantic Pool, equipped with eight 25m lanes.
Each morning, seniors engage in a 40-minute swim lesson, led by certified swim instructors and supported by group counselors. Our swim lessons are skill-based, rather than age-dependent, allowing us to challenge swimmers at various proficiency levels. We annually train and certify our own instructors, drawing from over 25 years of practical experience in teaching children how to swim. In the afternoons, Senior Campers have the opportunity for Free Swim in the pools.
Ropes Courses
In Whitehouse Station, NJ, our Senior campers actively engage in the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course on a weekly basis. The Climbing Tower boasts two distinct rock walls, a 200-yard Zipline, a Giant Cargo Net, Jacob’s Ladder, and the exhilarating Giant Swing. The High Ropes course extends the adventure with additional rock walls, mid-air challenges, and a state-of-the-art High Ropes Confidence Course.
Safety is paramount in these activities. Prior to each season, our ropes courses undergo thorough inspection and certification by the company responsible for their construction. Moreover, our certified ropes instructors, who guide the groups through all courses, conduct daily safety checks to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience for our campers.
Choice
In Whitehouse Station, NJ, during the Choice period, our campers have the flexibility to choose an activity for the week from a rotating list. Each week, campers can opt for a new activity from a diverse selection that spans both athletic and creative pursuits. In addition to these choices, Senior campers also have the unique opportunity to either participate in our annual Drama Production or be a part of the special Dance routine, collectively known as Showcrest. The Senior performances in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently shine as standout highlights of the show.
Social Development
In Whitehouse Station, NJ, our campers, under the watchful guidance of our camp counselors, actively participate in team-building challenges and competitions throughout the summer.
