Oak Crest Day Camp, located in the 08817 area of NJ, is the perfect summer destination for kids aged 3 to 15. This camp is known for its convenience, providing door-to-door transportation for families, making it a top choice for busy parents. 3-5 Year Olds (Munchkins)
Oak Crest offers two program options for 3 to 5-year-olds in our Munchkin Division, a 5 full-day program and a 3 full-day program. Our approach emphasizes maintaining a low camper-to-staff ratio, ensuring that each child receives personalized attention and care. In each group, there are 10 to 12 campers accompanied by 3 to 4 staff members, placing a strong focus on safety and nurturing.
One of the key highlights of the Munchkin Program is its dedication to teaching children how to swim. We prioritize building comfort and proficiency in the water, recognizing the importance of water safety. Our specially trained Munchkin Specialists lead these swimming sessions, tailoring them to be age-appropriate and enriching experiences.
Furthermore, our program goes beyond swimming. We believe in enhancing both gross and fine motor skills in young children through a variety of athletic and creative activities. These activities are carefully designed to foster growth and development, ensuring that children not only have fun but also gain valuable skills that will serve them well as they continue to grow and learn.
Explorers (1st and 2nd Graders)
In our Explorers program, similar to our Munchkin program, children participate in a wide range of athletic and creative activities. They also focus on improving their swimming skills while simultaneously developing their social and emotional intelligence.
For first graders, we introduce exciting new challenges such as the Climbing Tower, Zipline, Giant Swing, and the fun game of GAGA. These activities provide thrilling experiences and help build confidence and teamwork skills.
As campers enter the second grade, they have the opportunity to customize their experience with CHOICE periods. This means they can select their preferred activities on a weekly basis, allowing for a personalized and engaging summer camp experience.
Juniors (3rd & 4th Graders)
In the Junior program at Oak Crest, children have the opportunity to participate in a diverse array of activities that cater to their interests and development. These activities include Archery, Mountain Biking, Lacrosse, High Ropes, BMX, Skatepark, and Camper vs. Wild.
The Junior program is designed to offer a balanced blend of athletic and creative activities. It also includes dedicated time for Instructional Swim and access to the Climbing Tower, providing campers with opportunities for skill development and adventure.
Additionally, Juniors get to experience the excitement of Late Nights at camp, with extended access to camp facilities. This special evening includes a special dinner, extra swim time, games, a unique event, and the cherished tradition of a twilight campfire with S’mores. It’s a memorable and fun-filled part of their Oak Crest experience.
Seniors (5th & 6th Graders)
Senior campers at Oak Crest get to make the most of their summer with a comprehensive range of experiences. They actively participate in all camp activities, ensuring they have a well-rounded camp experience.
Beyond the regular camp routine, our Senior campers embark on thrilling day trips to places like Dorney Park, adding an extra layer of excitement to their summer adventures. They also have access to an array of advanced Choice offerings, allowing them to tailor their camp experience to their personal preferences and interests.
Senior Late Nights are a highlight of their summer experience, offering extended camp time to enjoy the facilities. During these evenings, they savor a special dinner, additional swim time, engaging games, a unique event, and a cherished tradition – a twilight campfire complete with S’mores. It’s a perfect way to cap off their days at Oak Crest, creating lasting memories with friends and fellow campers.
Teen Travel (7th, 8th, & 9th Graders)
During the Choice period at Oak Crest, campers have the freedom to choose an activity that piques their interest for that week. Our program ensures that each week, campers can explore a new Choice from a dynamic and regularly updated list of activities.
In addition to the wide range of athletic and creative options, Senior campers have the unique opportunity to participate in our annual Drama Production or be part of a special Dance routine. This exciting event is known as Showcrest, and it’s a highlight of the summer at Oak Crest.
The Senior campers who take on roles in the Drama and Dance productions always deliver exceptional performances, adding a memorable and entertaining dimension to the show. Showcrest is an opportunity for campers to showcase their talents and creativity while creating lasting memories for themselves and the entire camp community.
Social Development
At Oak Crest, our dedicated camp counselors play a pivotal role in guiding campers through a series of team-building challenges and friendly competitions. These activities are carefully designed to foster essential qualities such as teamwork, support, and effective communication.
Our structured environment is instrumental in cultivating respect among campers and provides a foundation for forming lasting friendships. LIT Program (10th & 11th Graders)
The LIT (Leadership-in-Training) Experience is a unique opportunity for 9th, 10th, and 11th graders that offers hands-on leadership skill development in a dynamic setting. The primary goal of this program is to enhance the overall camp experience for younger campers.
Participants in the LIT program delve into essential aspects of leadership, with a strong emphasis on problem-solving, being positive role models, and effectively working as part of a team. These skills are not only beneficial during their time at camp but also in their future endeavors, including college and careers.
The LIT program places a significant focus on fostering responsibility among participants. This prepares them for future success in various aspects of their lives and equips them with the qualities necessary to become exceptional camp staff members in the future. It’s an enriching and transformative experience designed to empower young individuals with valuable leadership skills and a sense of responsibility.
