3-5 Year Olds (Munchkins)
Oak Crest provides specialized programs for 3 to 5-year-olds in our Munchkin Division, ensuring a high level of attention and safety with a low camper-to-staff ratio of 10 to 12 campers per group led by 3 to 4 staff members.
One of the key focuses of the Munchkin Program is swimming. Our dedicated efforts aim to cultivate comfort and proficiency in the water, ensuring that young campers develop essential aquatic skills. In addition to swimming, our program offers a range of activities designed to enhance gross and fine motor skills. These activities are led by specially trained Munchkin Specialists who create age-appropriate and enriching experiences for the children.
Explorers (1st and 2nd Graders)
Explorers, just like our Munchkins, participate in a variety of athletic and creative activities that contribute to their physical and emotional development. First graders have the exciting opportunity to be introduced to thrilling activities such as the Climbing Tower, Zipline, Giant Swing, and GAGA, providing them with exhilarating experiences.
As campers progress into the second grade, they get to enjoy CHOICE periods, where they have the freedom to select their preferred activities on a weekly basis. This personalized approach ensures that each child has the opportunity to engage in activities they are truly passionate about, further enhancing their camp experience.
Juniors (3rd & 4th Graders)
The Junior campers at Oak Crest participate in an extensive array of activities, offering them a diverse and exciting summer experience. These activities include Archery, Mountain Biking, Lacrosse, High Ropes, BMX, Skatepark, and Camper vs. Wild, ensuring they have a wide range of options to explore.
In addition to these activities, the Junior program includes a blend of athletic and creative pursuits, as well as opportunities for Instructional Swim and access to the Climbing Tower. Juniors also get to enjoy special Late Nights at camp, extending their access to more fun and adventure. During these Late Nights, they partake in a special dinner, extra swim and games, a unique event, and a twilight campfire complete with delicious S’mores. These experiences add an extra layer of excitement and camaraderie to their Oak Crest adventure.
Seniors (5th & 6th Graders)
Senior campers at Oak Crest have a well-rounded experience that encompasses all camp activities, including thrilling day trips like Dorney Park, adding an extra layer of excitement to their summer adventure.
Furthermore, seniors have access to a diverse range of advanced Choice offerings, allowing them to tailor their camp experience to their specific interests and passions. This personalized approach ensures that each senior camper can engage in activities that truly resonate with them.
To top it all off, Senior Late Nights provide extended camp time, a special dinner, extra swim time, engaging games, a unique event, and a twilight campfire complete with delicious S’mores. These Late Nights create memorable moments and foster camaraderie among senior campers, making their Oak Crest experience even more special and enjoyable.
Teen Travel (7th, 8th, & 9th Graders)
Choice time at Oak Crest allows campers to exercise their autonomy by choosing an activity they’re passionate about for each week. This flexibility enables our campers to explore a wide array of interests throughout the summer, with a continuously evolving list of activities to choose from.
In addition to the diverse range of athletic and creative options available, seniors have the unique opportunity to get involved in our annual Drama Production or take part in a special Dance routine. Our annual Dance and Drama Production, known as Showcrest, is a highlight of the summer, and the participation of senior campers in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently steals the spotlight, adding to the excitement and vibrancy of the show.
Social Development
At Oak Crest, our camp counselors play a pivotal role in guiding campers through a series of team-building challenges and competitions. These activities are designed to instill important values such as teamwork, support, and effective communication among campers.
This structured environment serves as a platform for cultivating respect and nurturing lifelong friendships among the children and young teens at our camp. Oak Crest takes a firm stance against bullying and upholds a zero-tolerance policy to ensure that every camper is safe and comfortable.

LIT Program (10th & 11th Graders)
The LIT (Leadership in Training) Experience is a program specifically designed for 9th, 10th, and 11th graders at Oak Crest. It offers a hands-on opportunity for these campers to develop leadership skills in a dynamic and engaging environment, with a primary goal of enriching the camp experience for younger campers.
Participants in the LIT program are encouraged to focus on key areas such as problem-solving, effective role modeling, and teamwork. These skills are considered vital for personal growth and success, not only during their time at camp but also as they prepare for college and future careers.
The program places a strong emphasis on cultivating responsibility among LITs, aiming to equip them with the qualities and abilities necessary to excel in various life pursuits. Additionally, the LIT Experience paves the way for potential roles as outstanding camp staff members, highlighting the valuable leadership qualities developed during their participation in the program.
