Oak Crest Day Camp, located near 08884 in NJ, is a summer haven for kids aged 3 to 15. For our younger campers, there’s a plethora of options to dive into, including swimming, biking, rock climbing, and arts and crafts. This ensures that their summer is not only filled with fun but also opportunities for learning and personal growth.
As children grow, Oak Crest offers specialized programs like special day trips and overnight excursions, which are perfect for those seeking a bit of adventure and independence. These activities go beyond mere enjoyment; they focus on instilling lifelong skills. Whether your child wants to learn to swim, become a biking pro, or develop social, teamwork, and leadership skills, Oak Crest provides the ideal supportive and dynamic environment.

3-5 Year Olds (Munchkins)
Oak Crest offers specialized programs for 3 to 5-year-olds in our Munchkin Division, ensuring a high level of individualized attention due to our low camper-to-staff ratio. Each group consists of 10 to 12 campers and is supervised by 3 to 4 staff members, placing a strong emphasis on safety and providing nurturing care.
One of the core focuses of our Munchkin Program is swimming. We prioritize building comfort and proficiency in the water, understanding the importance of water safety. In addition to swimming, our program also emphasizes the development of gross and fine motor skills through a diverse range of athletic and creative activities. These activities are guided by specially trained Munchkin Specialists who ensure that the experiences are age-appropriate and enriching for your child.
Explorers (1st and 2nd Graders)
Explorers, similar to Munchkins, actively participate in a variety of athletic and creative activities, focusing on improving their swimming skills, and nurturing their social and emotional intelligence. As children transition into the first grade, they get introduced to exciting challenges like the Climbing Tower, Zipline, Giant Swing, and engage in lively GAGA games. As campers progress to the second grade, they have the opportunity to enjoy CHOICE periods, allowing them to select their preferred activities on a weekly basis for a more personalized and enriching camp experience.
Juniors (3rd & 4th Graders)
In the Junior program at Oak Crest, children are exposed to a diverse array of exciting activities designed to keep them engaged and entertained. These activities include Archery, Mountain Biking, Lacrosse, High Ropes, BMX, Skatepark, and Camper vs. Wild.
Within their program, Juniors get to participate in both athletic and creative activities, ensuring a well-rounded experience. They also have the opportunity for Instructional Swim sessions to improve their swimming skills and gain access to the Climbing Tower for a thrilling climbing experience.
In addition to their daily activities, Juniors get to enjoy special Late Nights at camp, extending their access to fun and adventure. These Late Nights include a special dinner, extra swim time, engaging games, a unique event, and a memorable twilight campfire complete with S’mores, making for unforgettable summer experiences.
Seniors (5th & 6th Graders)
Senior campers at Oak Crest have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a wide range of engaging activities. They not only get to enjoy all the standard camp activities but also have access to thrilling day trips to places like Dorney Park, adding an extra layer of excitement to their summer experience.
Furthermore, Seniors can choose from an array of advanced Choice offerings, allowing them to tailor their camp experience to their personal interests and preferences. This customization ensures that each Senior camper gets to participate in activities they are genuinely passionate about.
Similar to Juniors, Senior campers also partake in Senior Late Nights, extending their time at camp and enhancing their overall experience. These Late Nights include a special dinner, additional swim sessions, fun games, a unique event, and a memorable twilight campfire with delicious S’mores, creating lasting memories and fostering a sense of camaraderie among campers.
Teen Travel (7th, 8th, & 9th Graders)
During the Choice period at Oak Crest, campers have the exciting opportunity to choose an activity to engage in for the week. Each week, campers can explore a fresh set of choices from a dynamic list of activities.
In addition to the diverse array of athletic and creative activities, Senior campers can opt to take part in our annual Drama Production or join our special Dance routine, collectively known as Showcrest! It’s worth noting that the Senior campers’ participation in both the Drama and Dance productions is consistently a highlight of the show, showcasing their talent and dedication to the Oak Crest community.
Social Development
At Oak Crest, our camp counselors play a crucial role in guiding campers through a series of team-building challenges and friendly competitions. These activities are designed to promote teamwork, support, and effective communication among campers.
Our structured environment not only encourages these values but also cultivates respect and fosters the formation of lasting friendships. We prioritize creating a safe and nurturing atmosphere where bullying is strictly prohibited. Our commitment is to ensure that children and young teens have the opportunity to develop essential emotional and social skills that will benefit them throughout their lives.
LIT Program (10th & 11th Graders)
The LIT Experience is a program designed for 9th, 10th, and 11th graders, providing them with a hands-on opportunity to develop valuable leadership skills in a dynamic environment. Participants in this program concentrate on honing skills such as problem-solving, positive role modeling, and effective teamwork.
One of the primary emphases of the program is instilling a sense of responsibility. We aim to prepare LITs not only for success in their future academic pursuits and careers but also to equip them with the qualities needed to excel as exceptional camp staff in the future. This program serves as a foundation for personal and professional growth, with a focus on developing skills that will benefit participants in various aspects of their lives.
