Summer Camp near Cranbury

Oak Crest Day Camp, situated near Cranbury, New Jersey, stands as a quintessential summer destination, catering to children aged 3 to 15. Renowned for its convenience, the camp offers door-to-door transportation, making it an ideal choice for busy parents. Each day at Oak Crest promises adventure through a diverse range of activities meticulously designed to engage and inspire children of all ages.

Younger campers can immerse themselves in swimming, bicycling, rock climbing, arts, and crafts, ensuring a summer filled with both enjoyment and educational experiences. As children mature, they can take part in specialized programs such as day trips and overnight excursions, fostering a sense of adventure and independence. These activities extend beyond mere fun, serving as opportunities to acquire lifelong skills. 3-5 Year Olds (Munchkins)

Oak Crest offers two program options for children aged 3 to 5 years in our Munchkin Division: a 5 full-day program and a 3 full-day program. These programs maintain a low camper-to-staff ratio, typically with 10 to 12 campers per group and 3 to 4 staff members, ensuring personalized attention, safety, and nurturing care.

One key focus of the Munchkin Program is swimming. We prioritize building comfort and proficiency in the water, with dedicated efforts to enhance swimming skills. Additionally, our program includes activities that promote the development of gross and fine motor skills. These activities are led by specially trained Munchkin Specialists who provide age-appropriate and enriching experiences for the children.

Explorers (1st and 2nd Graders)

Similar to the Munchkin program, our Explorers program offers a range of athletic and creative activities, swimming skill development, and opportunities for social and emotional growth. For first graders, we introduce exciting activities such as the Climbing Tower, Zipline, Giant Swing, and GAGA. In the second grade, campers have the opportunity to participate in CHOICE periods, allowing them to select their preferred activities on a weekly basis for a personalized camp experience.

Juniors (3rd & 4th Graders)

In the Junior program at Oak Crest near Cranbury, a diverse array of activities awaits, including Archery, Mountain Biking, Lacrosse, High Ropes, BMX, Skatepark, and Camper vs. Wild. This comprehensive program encompasses both athletic and creative pursuits, along with Instructional Swim and access to the Climbing Tower. Juniors also have the privilege of Late Nights, providing extended camp access, special dinners, additional swim time, engaging games, unique events, and a memorable twilight campfire featuring S’mores.

Seniors (5th & 6th Graders)

Senior campers at Oak Crest near Cranbury engage in a comprehensive program that includes all camp activities, along with numerous exhilarating day trips such as Dorney Park. They also have access to a wide range of advanced Choice offerings. Additionally, Senior Late Nights are a highlight, offering extended camp hours, special dinners, extra swim sessions, entertaining games, exclusive events, and a twilight campfire featuring S’mores.

Teen Travel (7th, 8th, & 9th Graders)

Social Development

The Choice program at Oak Crest in Cranbury allows campers to choose an activity for each weekly period. With a rotating selection of activities, campers can explore various options throughout the summer. In addition to the array of athletic and creative activities, seniors have the opportunity to be part of our annual Drama Production or take part in a special Dance routine. These annual productions, collectively known as Showcrest, consistently feature standout performances by our senior participants, making them the highlight of the show.

LIT Program (10th & 11th Graders)

At Oak Crest in Cranbury, camp counselors take on the role of guiding groups through team-building challenges and competitions. This structured approach aims to cultivate teamwork, support, and effective communication among campers. By enforcing a zero-tolerance policy for bullying, Oak Crest is dedicated to creating a nurturing environment where children and young teenagers can acquire crucial emotional and social skills, ultimately fostering respect and lifelong friendships.
