Summer Camp near Franklin Township

Oak Crest Day Camp, located near Franklin Township, NJ, is a premier summer destination for children aged 3 to 15. Known for its convenience, the camp provides door-to-door transportation, making it an ideal choice for busy parents. Oak Crest offers a wide range of engaging activities, including swimming, bicycling, rock climbing, arts, and crafts, ensuring a summer filled with fun and educational experiences for all age groups.

As children mature, they have the opportunity to participate in specialized programs, including day trips and overnight excursions, fostering independence and valuable life skills. Whether your child aims to learn swimming, master bicycling, or develop social, teamwork, and leadership abilities, Oak Crest offers a supportive and dynamic environment for growth.

3-5 Year Olds (Munchkins)

Oak Crest offers specialized programs for 3 to 5-year-olds, known as the Munchkin Division, including both 5 full-day and 3 full-day options. We maintain a low camper-to-staff ratio, with groups consisting of 10 to 12 campers supervised by 3 to 4 staff members, ensuring personalized attention, safety, and nurturing care.

Our Munchkin Program places a strong emphasis on swimming, aiming to instill comfort and proficiency in the water. Additionally, the program enhances gross and fine motor skills through a variety of athletic and creative activities, led by trained Munchkin Specialists who provide age-appropriate and enriching experiences.

Explorers (1st and 2nd Graders)

Explorers, similar to Munchkins, participate in athletic and creative activities to improve swimming skills and cultivate social and emotional intelligence. First graders are introduced to the Climbing Tower, Zipline, Giant Swing, and GAGA. In second grade, campers have the opportunity to choose preferred activities during weekly CHOICE periods, allowing for personalized experiences.

Juniors (3rd & 4th Graders)

In Franklin Township’s Oak Crest Camp, Juniors partake in an extensive array of activities such as Archery, Mountain Biking, Lacrosse, High Ropes, BMX, Skatepark, and Camper vs. Wild. Their program encompasses athletic and creative pursuits, Instructional Swim, and access to the Climbing Tower. Juniors also relish Late Nights, offering extended camp access, a special dinner, additional swim time, games, a unique event, and an evening campfire with S’mores.

Seniors (5th & 6th Graders)

Senior campers in Franklin Township’s Oak Crest Camp partake in all camp activities, engaging in various stimulating day trips, including visits to places like Dorney Park. They also have access to a wide range of advanced Choice options. In addition, Senior Late Nights extend their camp experience, providing special dinner, extra swim time, games, a distinctive event, and an evening campfire complete with S’mores.

Teen Travel (7th, 8th, & 9th Graders)

Choice periods allow campers in Franklin Township the opportunity to choose a specific activity for the week, with the option to select a new one each week from a constantly evolving list of activities. Alongside a diverse range of athletic and creative pursuits, Seniors can actively participate in our annual Drama Production or take part in a special Dance routine, collectively known as Showcrest. The Senior involvement in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently stands out as the highlight of the show.

Social Development

At Franklin Township’s Oak Crest Camp, counselors guide campers through team-building challenges and competitions, emphasizing the development of teamwork, support, and communication skills. This structured approach aims to cultivate respect and foster lasting friendships. Oak Crest maintains a strict anti-bullying policy and remains dedicated to nurturing a compassionate environment that facilitates the growth of crucial emotional and social abilities in children and young adolescents.

LIT Program (10th & 11th Graders)

The LIT (Leadership in Training) Experience in Franklin Township offers a practical leadership development opportunity, designed to improve the camp experience for younger campers. Open to 9th, 10th, or 11th graders, this program centers on honing skills in problem-solving, role modeling, and teamwork. The primary emphasis is on fostering responsibility, equipping LITs for future success in higher education, careers, and potential roles as outstanding camp staff members.
