Oak Crest Day Camp, located near Skillman, NJ, is the perfect summer destination for kids aged 3 to 15. Known for its convenience, the camp provides door-to-door transportation for families, making it a hassle-free choice. At Oak Crest, there’s something for every age group, ensuring that every day is filled with adventure and excitement.
For the younger campers, activities like swimming, biking, rock climbing, and arts and crafts are designed to combine fun and learning. As kids grow, they can delve into more specialized programs, including special day trips and overnight excursions, perfect for those seeking adventure and independence. These activities are not just about having a good time; they’re also about acquiring lifelong skills.

3-5 Year Olds (Munchkins)
At Oak Crest, we offer two program options for 3 to 5-year-olds in our Munchkin Division: a 5 full-day program and a 3 full-day program. Our priority is to maintain a low camper-to-staff ratio to ensure personalized attention and a safe, nurturing environment. Each group consists of 10 to 12 campers with 3 to 4 dedicated staff members who focus on your child’s well-being.
One of the key highlights of the Munchkin Program is our strong emphasis on swimming. We understand the importance of building water confidence and proficiency at an early age. That’s why our program is designed to enhance your child’s comfort and skills in the water. Our specially trained Munchkin Specialists guide the kids through age-appropriate activities that not only improve their swimming abilities but also develop their gross and fine motor skills.
In essence, Oak Crest’s Munchkin Program goes beyond traditional childcare. We provide a comprehensive experience that prioritizes safety, personalized care, and skill development, especially in the realm of swimming. Your child’s growth and enrichment are our primary focus, ensuring they have a positive and constructive early camp experience.
Explorers (1st and 2nd Graders)
Our Explorers program, similar to our Munchkin program, provides children with a well-rounded camp experience. It focuses on athletic and creative activities while also emphasizing the development of swimming skills and social-emotional intelligence.
For first graders, we introduce them to exciting challenges like the Climbing Tower, Zipline, Giant Swing, and GAGA. These activities not only offer thrilling experiences but also help build confidence and physical skills.
As campers move into the second grade, they get the opportunity to customize their camp experience with CHOICE periods. This means they can select their preferred activities on a weekly basis, allowing for a more personalized and enjoyable experience.
Our goal with the Explorers program is to provide children with a diverse range of activities and opportunities for growth, ensuring that their time at camp is both fun and enriching.
Juniors (3rd & 4th Graders)
Our Junior program at Oak Crest offers a diverse array of activities that cater to various interests and skills. These activities include Archery, Mountain Biking, Lacrosse, High Ropes, BMX, Skatepark, and Camper vs. Wild.
In addition to these exciting activities, Juniors participate in a well-rounded program that combines athletics and creativity. They receive instruction in swimming, ensuring that they build and improve their swim skills. Juniors also have access to the Climbing Tower, which adds an element of adventure and challenge to their camp experience.
Furthermore, Juniors get to enjoy special Late Nights at camp. During these extended hours, they have the opportunity to partake in additional activities, savor a special dinner, engage in extra swim time, play games, and take part in a unique event. The night concludes with a campfire under the twilight sky, complete with the classic campfire treat, S’mores.
In summary, our Junior program is designed to provide campers with a well-rounded and memorable experience. It combines diverse activities, skill-building, and special events to ensure that every day at Oak Crest is filled with fun and enriching experiences.
Seniors (5th & 6th Graders)
Our Senior campers at Oak Crest get to experience a wide range of activities, including all the offerings available at camp. Moreover, they have the opportunity to embark on exciting day trips, such as visits to places like Dorney Park, adding an extra layer of adventure to their camp experience.
In addition to the regular camp activities and day trips, Senior campers have access to a diverse selection of advanced Choice offerings. This means they can tailor their camp experience by choosing activities that align with their interests and passions, allowing for a more personalized and enjoyable time at camp.
Senior Late Nights are another highlight of their experience, offering extended camp hours. During these evenings, they can enjoy a special dinner, extra swim time, engaging games, and participate in unique events. The night concludes with a classic campfire experience, complete with the beloved treat, S’mores.
In essence, our Senior program at Oak Crest is designed to provide campers with a rich and customizable experience, combining a variety of activities, exciting day trips, and special evenings to create lasting memories and enrich their camp journey.
Teen Travel (7th, 8th, & 9th Graders)
During our Choice periods, campers have the opportunity to pick an activity to engage in for the week. This means that each week, our campers can explore a new Choice from a constantly evolving list of activities.
In addition to the wide range of athletic and creative options, Senior campers have the chance to take on a role in our annual Drama Production or participate in our special Dance routine, known as Showcrest. These performances are a highlight of our camp experience, and the Senior campers’ involvement in both the Drama and Dance productions consistently stands out as the most memorable and impressive part of the show.
Social Development
At Oak Crest, our camp counselors play a crucial role in guiding campers through team-building challenges and competitions. This structured approach is not just about having fun; it’s designed to cultivate essential skills such as teamwork, support, and communication.
Through these activities, we aim to create an environment where campers learn to respect one another and form lifelong friendships. We take a strong stance against bullying, maintaining a zero-tolerance policy to ensure that every child and young teen at Oak Crest is part of a caring and supportive community.

LIT Program (10th & 11th Graders)
The LIT (Leaders-in-Training) Experience is a program designed for 9th, 10th, and 11th graders that offers a hands-on approach to developing leadership skills. Its primary goal is to enhance the overall camp experience for younger campers through active participation.
Participants in the LIT program focus on critical aspects of leadership, including problem-solving, positive role modeling, and effective teamwork. A key emphasis of the program is instilling a sense of responsibility in LITs, which prepares them not only for future success in college and their careers but also positions them as potential outstanding members of our camp staff.
