3-5 Year Olds (Munchkins)
For parents residing near Somerset, Oak Crest offers specialized programs tailored to children aged 3 to 5 in our Munchkin Division. We prioritize safety and personalized attention by maintaining a low camper-to-staff ratio, with each group consisting of 10 to 12 campers and 3 to 4 staff members.

Just like the younger campers, Explorers also participate in a variety of athletic and creative activities, continuing to develop their swimming skills, and further nurturing their social and emotional intelligence.
First graders in our program have the exciting opportunity to experience new challenges. They are introduced to thrilling activities such as the Climbing Tower, Zipline, Giant Swing, and GAGA. These activities not only provide a sense of adventure but also help campers develop physical and mental agility.
As campers progress to the second grade, we introduce CHOICE periods into their experience. This unique feature allows them to select their preferred activities on a weekly basis. This personalized approach ensures that each child can tailor their camp experience to their interests and preferences, fostering a deeper sense of engagement and enjoyment.
Juniors (3rd & 4th Graders)
For parents living near Somerset, our Junior program at Oak Crest offers a diverse array of activities aimed at keeping kids engaged and active. These activities include Archery, Mountain Biking, Lacrosse, High Ropes, BMX, Skatepark, and Camper vs. Wild.
The Junior program is designed to provide a well-rounded experience, combining both athletic and creative pursuits. It includes dedicated time for Instructional Swim to further develop swimming skills and access to the Climbing Tower for adventure and skill-building.
Additionally, Juniors get to enjoy special Late Nights at camp, where they have extended access to the camp facilities. This includes a special dinner, extra swim time, engaging games, a unique event, and a memorable twilight campfire complete with S’mores. These Late Nights are a highlight of the Junior program, offering campers extra opportunities for fun and socializing.
Seniors (5th & 6th Graders)
For parents residing near Somerset, our Senior campers at Oak Crest experience a comprehensive and exciting program. They have access to all the camp activities available, ensuring a well-rounded and engaging summer experience.
In addition to the regular camp activities, Senior campers get the opportunity to embark on thrilling day trips, including visits to places like Dorney Park. These trips add an extra layer of adventure to their summer adventures.
Furthermore, our Senior campers have access to a wide range of advanced Choice offerings, allowing them to select activities that align with their personal interests and passions. This personalized approach enhances their overall camp experience and fosters a sense of independence and responsibility.
Similar to our Junior campers, Seniors also enjoy special Late Nights at camp. These evenings offer extended camp hours, a special dinner, extra swim time, engaging games, a unique event, and a memorable twilight campfire with S’mores. These Late Nights are a cherished part of the Senior program, providing campers with extra opportunities for fun, camaraderie, and lasting memories.
Teen Travel (7th, 8th, & 9th Graders)
At Oak Crest, we offer campers the freedom to choose their activities during the Choice period each week. This means they can pick a different activity every week from a regularly updated list. This choice allows our campers to explore a wide range of athletic and creative activities throughout the summer.
For our Senior campers, there are additional exciting options. They can opt to take part in our annual Drama Production or participate in a special Dance routine. Our yearly Dance and Drama Production is known as Showcrest, and the performances by our Senior campers are always the highlight of the show. This provides an excellent opportunity for our campers to showcase their talents and creativity in a fun and supportive environment.
Social Development
At Oak Crest, our camp counselors play a crucial role in guiding campers through team-building challenges and friendly competitions. This structured approach aims to cultivate important values such as teamwork, mutual support, and effective communication among campers. These experiences contribute to the development of respect and the formation of lasting friendships among the children and young teens in our program.

LIT Program (10th & 11th Graders)
The LIT (Leadership-in-Training) Experience at Oak Crest is a program designed for 9th, 10th, and 11th graders, offering hands-on leadership skill development in an engaging and dynamic environment. The primary objective of this program is to enrich the camp experience for younger campers by having these older participants focus on key aspects such as problem-solving, effective role modeling, and teamwork.
Throughout the LIT program, emphasis is placed on nurturing responsibility among participants. This not only prepares them for future success in their academic endeavors and careers but also positions them to potentially excel in roles as exceptional camp staff members. The LIT Experience at Oak Crest is a pathway for these young individuals to develop essential life skills and make a positive impact within the camp community and beyond.
