Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near 07016
At Oak Crest, our 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students are part of the Teen Travel Program based in 07016, New Jersey. Our teen campers not only engage in Oak Crest activities but also have the opportunity to embark on day and overnight trips. Specifically, 7th graders attend camp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. In contrast, 8th and 9th graders have camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with travel days scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Additionally, teens have the choice of participating in 2- or 3-day overnight trips.
At our New Jersey location in 07016, Camp offers a structured group schedule for teenagers. They participate in activities within small groups of 10-15 campers, under the supervision of rigorously screened counselors. The schedule includes two sessions of free swim, exciting activities like the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a variety of athletic and creative pursuits, and two designated Choice periods. During these Choice periods, teens enjoy the flexibility to select their preferred activities, enabling them to explore a diverse range of options by choosing a new one for each Choice period.
At our New Jersey location in 07016, strict adherence to Oak Crest Travel Protocols for Safety is paramount when our teens venture outside the camp premises. All Teen Travel campers and their parents are required to sign the Teen Travel Behavior Contract. Similar to other divisions within the camp, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs are under the vigilant supervision of an adult Division Head. These Division Heads are responsible for overseeing their respective divisions within the camp and accompany campers on both day and overnight trips. Our Teen Staff members undergo specialized training to effectively supervise campers in public spaces and handle the unique challenges associated with early adolescence.
