Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near 07091
At Oak Crest, our 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students participate in our Teen Travel Program situated in 07091, New Jersey. This program offers a dynamic blend of on-site Oak Crest activities and off-site day and overnight excursions. Specifically, 7th graders attend camp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. In contrast, 8th and 9th graders follow a different schedule, attending camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays and embarking on travel days on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Furthermore, participants have the option to select from 2- or 3-day overnight trips for added adventure and exploration.
At our New Jersey location in 07091, Camp for teenagers follows a well-organized group schedule. Teens are divided into groups of 10-15 campers, closely overseen by thoroughly vetted counselors. The daily schedule encompasses two sessions of free swim, engaging activities such as the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a variety of athletic and creative endeavors, as well as two designated Choice periods. During these Choice periods, teenagers have the freedom to select their preferred activity, providing them with the opportunity to explore a wide range of activities by choosing a different one during each Choice period.
At our New Jersey location in 07091, when our teenagers venture beyond the camp premises, they adhere rigorously to the Oak Crest Travel Protocols for Safety. Prior to participation, all Teen Travel campers and their parents are required to sign the Teen Travel Behavior Contract. In alignment with other camp divisions, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs operate under the guidance of an adult Division Head. These Division Heads are entrusted with overseeing their respective divisions within the camp and accompany the teens on both day and overnight outings. Our dedicated Teen Staff undergo specialized training to effectively supervise campers in public spaces and address the unique challenges associated with early adolescence.
