Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near 07977
At Oak Crest’s New Jersey location in 07977, we offer a specialized Teen Travel Program for 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students. Our teen campers not only participate in engaging Oak Crest activities but also embark on exciting day and overnight trips. Specifically, 7th graders attend camp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. Conversely, 8th and 9th graders follow a schedule with camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays, while their travel days occur on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. In addition, teens have the flexibility to choose from 2- or 3-day overnight trips to enhance their camp experience.
At our New Jersey location in 07977, Camp Oak Crest maintains a structured group schedule for teenagers. Under the supervision of rigorously screened counselors, teens follow a well-organized routine in groups of 10-15 campers. The schedule incorporates two designated periods for free swim, participation in activities like the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a variety of athletic and creative pursuits, and two Choice periods. During these Choice periods, teens have the autonomy to select their preferred activities, encouraging them to explore a diverse range of options by choosing something new during each Choice period.
At our New Jersey location in 07977, Oak Crest prioritizes safety when our teenagers venture outside the camp premises. We have established stringent Oak Crest Travel Protocols for Safety to ensure their well-being. All Teen Travel campers and their parents are required to sign our Teen Travel Behavior Contract, demonstrating their commitment to adhering to our safety guidelines.
Similar to other divisions within the camp, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs operate under the vigilant supervision of an adult Division Head. These Division Heads are responsible for overseeing their respective divisions within the camp and accompanying campers on both day and overnight trips. Our Teen Staff undergoes specialized training to effectively supervise campers in public spaces and handle the unique challenges associated with early adolescence, further enhancing the safety and well-being of our campers.
