Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near 07979
At Oak Crest, our 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students participate in the Teen Travel Program located in 07979, New Jersey. Teen campers enjoy a blend of on-site Oak Crest activities and off-site day and overnight trips. 7th graders attend camp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. In contrast, 8th and 9th graders are present at camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with travel days scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Additionally, Teens have the option to choose between 2- or 3-day overnight trips.
At our New Jersey location in 07979, Camp offers a structured group schedule for teenagers, maintaining a camper-to-counselor ratio of 10-15 for enhanced supervision. The daily itinerary features two designated free swim periods, engaging activities such as the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a wide variety of athletic and creative options, and two Choice periods. During these Choice periods, teens have the opportunity to exercise their autonomy by selecting from a diverse range of activities, allowing them to explore different options with each Choice period.
At our New Jersey location in 07979, Oak Crest places a strong emphasis on safety when our teens venture beyond the camp premises. We enforce rigorous Oak Crest Travel Protocols to ensure the well-being of our Teen Travel campers. All Teen Travel participants, along with their parents, must sign a Teen Travel Behavior Contract to affirm their commitment to these safety measures. Just like other divisions within the camp, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs are under the vigilant supervision of an adult Division Head. These Division Heads are responsible for overseeing their respective divisions within the camp and accompany the campers on both day and overnight excursions. Our Teen Staff members undergo specialized training to proficiently supervise campers in public spaces and adeptly address the unique challenges associated with early adolescence.
