Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near 08502
At Oak Crest, our 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students actively participate in the Teen Travel Program at our 08502, New Jersey location. In addition to engaging in Oak Crest activities, teen campers have the opportunity to embark on various day and overnight trips. Specifically, 7th graders attend camp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. Conversely, 8th and 9th graders follow a schedule where they are at camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with travel days scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Furthermore, Teens have the choice of selecting 2- or 3-day overnight trips for an extended adventure experience.
At our New Jersey location in 08502, teenagers at Camp follow a well-structured group schedule. They participate in activities in groups of 10-15 campers, under the supervision of thoroughly screened counselors. The schedule encompasses two sessions of free swim, engaging activities like the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a variety of athletic and creative pursuits, and two Choice periods. During these Choice periods, teenagers enjoy the flexibility to select their preferred activity, enabling them to explore a diverse range of activities by choosing a new one during each Choice period.
At our New Jersey location in 08502, outside the camp premises, our teenagers strictly adhere to the Oak Crest Travel Protocols for Safety. All Teen Travel campers and their parents are required to sign the Teen Travel Behavior Contract. Similar to other divisions within the camp, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs are overseen by an adult Division Head, responsible for managing the division within the camp and accompanying them on both day and overnight trips. Our Teen Staff undergoes specialized training to effectively supervise campers in public spaces and handle the unique challenges associated with early adolescence.
