Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near 08553
At Oak Crest, our 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students participate in our Teen Travel Program at the 08553 location in New Jersey. Teen campers actively engage in Oak Crest activities while also having the opportunity to embark on various day and overnight trips beyond the camp’s premises. Specifically, 7th graders attend camp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. Conversely, 8th and 9th graders follow a schedule where they attend camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with travel days occurring on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Additionally, teens have the flexibility to choose between 2- or 3-day overnight trips.
At our New Jersey location in 08553, teens at Camp follow a well-structured group schedule. They participate in activities within groups consisting of 10-15 campers, under the close supervision of rigorously screened counselors. The daily schedule comprises two periods dedicated to free swim, engaging activities such as the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a variety of athletic and creative pursuits, as well as two designated Choice periods. During these Choice periods, teens have the opportunity to exercise their autonomy by selecting the activity of their preference, enabling them to explore a diverse range of activities by choosing a new one during each Choice period.
At our location in 08553, New Jersey, when off-site, our teenage campers diligently adhere to Oak Crest’s rigorous Travel Protocols for Safety. All Teen Travel campers, along with their parents, are required to endorse the Teen Travel Behavior Contract. Similar to other camp divisions, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs are meticulously overseen by an adult Division Head. These individuals are responsible for the division’s management within the camp and accompany the campers on both day and overnight trips. Our dedicated Teen Staff members undergo specialized training to effectively supervise campers in public spaces and address the unique challenges associated with early adolescence.
