Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near 08820
At Oak Crest, our 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students actively participate in our Teen Travel Program, which operates from our 08820 location in New Jersey. The program enables teenage campers to engage in Oak Crest activities while also providing opportunities for them to embark on day and overnight excursions beyond the camp premises.
Specifically, 7th-grade students attend camp sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. In contrast, 8th and 9th-grade students follow a different schedule, attending camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with their travel days occurring on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Additionally, teenagers have the flexibility to choose between 2-day and 3-day overnight trips as part of their camp experience.
At our New Jersey location in 08820, Camp for teenagers follows a well-organized group schedule. Teens are grouped in batches of 10-15 campers, and these groups are overseen by meticulously screened counselors. The structured schedule includes two designated periods for free swim, a variety of engaging activities such as the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a diverse selection of athletic and creative pursuits, as well as two Choice periods.
During these Choice periods, teenagers have the freedom to select the activity of their choice, affording them the opportunity to explore a wide range of activities by opting for a new one during each Choice period.
At our location in 08820, New Jersey, the safety of our teenagers is of utmost importance when they venture beyond the camp premises. To ensure their well-being, all Teen Travel campers and their parents are required to sign our Teen Travel Behavior Contract. This contract is in line with the Oak Crest Travel Protocols for Safety.
Similar to other divisions within the camp, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs are overseen by an adult Division Head. These Division Heads are responsible for supervising their respective divisions within the camp and accompany the campers on both day and overnight trips.
Our dedicated Teen Staff undergoes specialized training to effectively supervise campers in public spaces and address the unique challenges associated with early adolescence. This rigorous approach ensures the safety and well-being of our teens during their off-campus activities.
