Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near 08821
At Oak Crest’s New Jersey location, our 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students actively participate in the Teen Travel Program, offering a blend of on-site Oak Crest activities and exciting off-site day and overnight trips. 7th graders attend camp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day excursions. Conversely, 8th and 9th graders switch their schedule, being at camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays while embarking on travel days on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Additionally, Teens have the flexibility to choose between 2- or 3-day overnight trips.
At our New Jersey location in 08821, Camp for teens follows a well-organized group schedule. Campers are divided into small groups of 10-15 individuals, closely supervised by carefully vetted counselors. The daily schedule features two designated free swim periods, as well as a variety of engaging activities including the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, along with a diverse range of athletic and creative options. Additionally, teens enjoy two Choice periods, granting them the autonomy to select their preferred activities, affording them the opportunity to explore a wide array of options with the freedom to choose a new activity during each Choice period.
At our New Jersey location in 08821, strict adherence to Oak Crest’s Travel Protocols for Safety is paramount when teens venture beyond the camp premises. All Teen Travel campers and their parents must commit to our Teen Travel Behavior Contract. Similar to other divisions within the camp, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs are under the vigilant supervision of an adult Division Head. These Division Heads are responsible for overseeing their respective divisions within the camp and accompanying campers on both day and overnight excursions. Our dedicated Teen Staff undergoes specialized training to effectively supervise campers in public spaces and navigate the unique challenges associated with early adolescence.
