Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near 08836
At Oak Crest, our 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students participate in the Teen Travel Program located in 08836, New Jersey. This program offers engaging activities within the Oak Crest facility while also providing opportunities for day and overnight trips. Specifically, 7th graders attend camp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. Conversely, 8th and 9th graders follow a schedule where they attend camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with travel days occurring on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. In addition to this, teens have the option to choose between 2-day and 3-day overnight trips.
At our New Jersey location in 08836, Camp offers a structured group schedule for teenagers. They participate in activities in groups of 10-15 campers, closely supervised by carefully screened counselors. The schedule encompasses two sessions of free swim, engaging activities like the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a variety of athletic and creative pursuits, and two designated Choice periods. During these Choice periods, teens have the freedom to select their preferred activities, affording them the opportunity to explore a diverse range of options by choosing a different activity during each Choice period.
At our New Jersey location in 08836, we prioritize the safety of our teens when they venture beyond the camp premises. We strictly enforce the Oak Crest Travel Protocols for Safety during these excursions. All Teen Travel campers and their parents are required to sign our Teen Travel Behavior Contract to ensure compliance with safety guidelines. Similar to other camp divisions, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs are overseen by an adult Division Head. These Division Heads are responsible for managing their respective divisions within the camp and accompany the teens on both day and overnight trips. Our Teen Staff undergoes specialized training to effectively supervise campers in public spaces and address the unique challenges associated with early adolescence, further enhancing the safety and well-being of our campers.
