Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near 08837
At Oak Crest, our 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students actively participate in our Teen Travel Program situated in 08837, New Jersey. This program provides a diverse range of experiences, with teens engaging in both Oak Crest activities and exciting day and overnight trips. To provide more detail, 7th graders attend camp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. Conversely, 8th and 9th graders follow a different schedule, attending camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays, while their travel days occur on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Furthermore, teens have the flexibility to choose between 2- or 3-day overnight trips to further enhance their camp experience.
In our New Jersey location at 08837, Camp Oak Crest maintains a structured group schedule for its teen participants. These groups typically consist of 10-15 campers, closely supervised by meticulously vetted counselors. The schedule incorporates two designated periods for free swim, along with a variety of activities like the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses. In addition to these offerings, there is a wide range of athletic and creative pursuits available, ensuring a well-rounded experience for the teens. What sets us apart is the inclusion of two Choice periods, during which teens have the autonomy to select the activities they wish to participate in. This unique feature allows them to explore a diverse array of activities by choosing a new one during each Choice period, fostering a more personalized and enriching camp experience.
In our New Jersey location at 08837, Camp Oak Crest places a strong emphasis on safety and protocol when our teens venture beyond the camp premises. All Teen Travel campers, along with their parents, are mandated to endorse our Teen Travel Behavior Contract, which outlines expected behavior and safety measures. Similar to other camp divisions, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs are overseen by experienced Division Heads, responsible for managing the respective divisions within the camp and accompanying them on day and overnight trips. Our Teen Staff members undergo specialized training to effectively supervise campers in public spaces and address the unique challenges associated with early adolescence, ensuring a secure and enjoyable experience for all.
