Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near 08840
At Oak Crest, our Teen Travel Program in 08840, New Jersey, is tailored for 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students. Our program offers a unique blend of on-site activities and off-site adventures. Seventh-graders attend camp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. In contrast, 8th and 9th graders have camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with travel days on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Furthermore, teens have the option to choose between 2-day and 3-day overnight trips, adding to the excitement of their summer experience.
In our New Jersey location near 08840, teens at Camp follow a structured group schedule. They engage in activities within small groups of 10-15 campers, under the supervision of thoroughly screened counselors. The daily schedule consists of two designated free swim periods, opportunities to participate in activities like the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a variety of athletic and creative pursuits, and two Choice periods. During these Choice periods, teens have the freedom to select their preferred activity, encouraging them to explore a diverse range of options by choosing something new for each session.
In our New Jersey location near 08840, we prioritize safety for our teens when they venture outside the camp premises. All Teen Travel campers, along with their parents, are required to endorse the Teen Travel Behavior Contract, designed to ensure responsible conduct during off-site activities. Similar to other camp divisions, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs are led by an adult Division Head who assumes responsibility for overseeing the division within the camp and accompanying campers on both day and overnight trips. Our dedicated Teen Staff members receive specialized training to effectively supervise campers in public spaces and manage the unique challenges associated with early adolescence, prioritizing their well-being.
