Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near 08873
At Oak Crest, our 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students actively participate in our Teen Travel Program based in 08873, New Jersey. Within this program, teen campers engage in a variety of Oak Crest activities and also have the opportunity to embark on day and overnight trips beyond the camp premises. Specifically, 7th graders attend camp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. In contrast, 8th and 9th graders follow a different schedule, attending camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays, while dedicating Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for travel experiences. Furthermore, teens can choose from either 2-day or 3-day overnight trips to enhance their camp adventures.
In our New Jersey-based location at 08873, Oak Crest Camp ensures that teenagers follow a well-organized group schedule. They navigate through activities in smaller groups, typically comprising 10-15 campers, under the vigilant supervision of meticulously vetted counselors. This schedule encompasses two dedicated periods for free swim, engaging activities like the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a diverse selection of athletic and creative pursuits, and two Choice periods. During these Choice periods, teenagers have the liberty to select activities according to their preferences, affording them the opportunity to explore a wide range of experiences by choosing a new activity during each Choice period.
At our New Jersey location within the 08873 area, Oak Crest prioritizes safety for our teenagers when they venture outside the camp premises. We have stringent Oak Crest Travel Protocols in place to ensure their well-being. All Teen Travel campers and their parents are required to endorse our Teen Travel Behavior Contract, underscoring the commitment to responsible conduct.
Similar to other divisions within the camp, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs operate under the vigilant supervision of an adult Division Head. These Division Heads are responsible for overseeing their respective divisions within the camp and accompany the campers on both day and overnight trips.
Our dedicated Teen Staff members undergo specialized training to effectively supervise campers in public spaces and are equipped to handle the unique challenges associated with early adolescence. Safety and security are paramount in our Teen Travel Programs.
