Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near 08902
At Oak Crest, our 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students actively participate in the Teen Travel Program situated in 08902, New Jersey. Within this program, teenage campers enjoy a dynamic experience, engaging in a variety of Oak Crest activities, while also venturing on day and overnight trips outside the camp’s vicinity. Specifically, 7th graders attend camp sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day excursions. On the other hand, 8th and 9th graders follow a different schedule, attending camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with travel days occurring on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Additionally, Teens have the option to partake in either 2- or 3-day overnight trips as part of their summer experience.
At our New Jersey location in 08902, teenage campers at Camp Oak Crest follow a meticulously organized group schedule. They transition between activities in small groups comprising 10-15 campers, closely supervised by rigorously screened counselors. This structured schedule encompasses two designated periods for free swim, engaging activities such as the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a diverse selection of athletic and creative pursuits, and two Choice periods. During these Choice periods, teenagers enjoy the flexibility to select their preferred activity, enabling them to explore a wide range of experiences by choosing a different one for each Choice period.
At our New Jersey location in 08902, the safety of our teenage campers is of paramount importance, and we enforce strict Oak Crest Travel Protocols when campers are off-site. All Teen Travel participants and their parents are required to sign the Teen Travel Behavior Contract, which outlines the expected conduct during travel activities. Similar to other camp divisions, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs are overseen by an adult Division Head. This individual is responsible for managing the division within the camp and accompanying campers on both day and overnight trips, ensuring their safety and well-being. Additionally, our Teen Staff undergoes specialized training to effectively supervise campers in public spaces and handle the unique challenges associated with early adolescence.
