Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near Belle Mead
At our Belle Mead, New Jersey location, Oak Crest offers a unique Teen Travel Program designed for 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students. Participants have the opportunity to engage in both on-site Oak Crest activities and explore various day and overnight trips. Specifically, 7th graders attend camp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with dedicated Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. In contrast, 8th and 9th graders follow a schedule of camp attendance on Tuesdays and Thursdays, reserving Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for travel days. Furthermore, Teens have the flexibility to choose between 2- or 3-day overnight trips to enhance their summer experience.
Camp Oak Crest, situated in Belle Mead, New Jersey, maintains a well-organized group schedule for its teenage participants. Teens are organized into small groups of 10-15 campers, each under the vigilant supervision of screened counselors. The daily schedule comprises two free swim sessions, opportunities to participate in activities like the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a selection of athletic and creative pursuits, and two designated Choice periods. These Choice periods empower teens with the flexibility to choose their preferred activities, enabling them to explore a diverse range of options by selecting a new one during each Choice period.
In Belle Mead, New Jersey, at our Oak Crest location, the safety of our teens is paramount, especially when they venture outside the camp premises. We have implemented stringent Oak Crest Travel Protocols for Safety to ensure their well-being. All Teen Travel campers and their parents must sign our Teen Travel Behavior Contract, underscoring our commitment to safety. Similar to other camp divisions, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs are overseen by an adult Division Head who takes responsibility for the division’s activities within the camp, as well as accompanying them on both day and overnight trips. Our dedicated Teen Staff undergoes specialized training to adeptly supervise campers in public spaces and address the unique challenges associated with early adolescence.
