Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near Branchburg
At our Branchburg, New Jersey location, Oak Crest offers a specialized Teen Travel Program designed for 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students. This program combines on-site activities with day and overnight excursions, allowing campers to enjoy a rich and diverse experience. 7th graders participate in camp activities on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. Conversely, 8th and 9th graders follow a different schedule, attending camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and embarking on travel adventures on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Additionally, teens have the option to choose between 2-day and 3-day overnight trips to further enhance their camp experience.
In our Branchburg, New Jersey location, Camp Oak Crest maintains a well-organized group schedule for our teenage campers. They navigate through activities in small groups of 10-15 campers, under the attentive supervision of rigorously screened counselors. This schedule comprises two sessions of free swim, an array of activities including the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a variety of athletic and creative endeavors, and two designated Choice periods. During these Choice periods, teens enjoy the freedom to select their preferred activities, providing them with the opportunity to explore a diverse range of options as they choose a new activity for each Choice period.
In our Branchburg, New Jersey location, we prioritize safety for our teens both on and off the camp premises, following the stringent Oak Crest Travel Protocols. All Teen Travel campers and their parents must sign a Teen Travel Behavior Contract, ensuring a shared commitment to safety guidelines. Similar to other divisions within our camp, the 7th Grade Teen Travel and 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs are overseen by dedicated adult Division Heads. These Division Heads are responsible for supervising their respective divisions and accompanying them on day and overnight trips. Our Teen Staff undergoes specialized training to effectively supervise campers in public spaces and address the unique challenges that arise during the early adolescence stage.
