Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near Bridgewater
At our Bridgewater, New Jersey location, Oak Crest offers a comprehensive Teen Travel Program for 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students. This program enables teens to engage in camp activities and explore a variety of day and overnight trips. Specifically, 7th graders attend camp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. Conversely, 8th and 9th graders participate in camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with travel days scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Additionally, teens have the option to choose from 2- or 3-day overnight trips.
At our Bridgewater, New Jersey location, Camp Oak Crest maintains a structured group schedule for teenagers. They participate in organized activities within small groups of 10-15 campers, closely supervised by rigorously screened counselors. The daily schedule encompasses two dedicated free swim periods, engagement in activities like the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a variety of athletic and creative pursuits, and two designated Choice periods. During these Choice periods, teens have the freedom to select the activity they wish to participate in, affording them the opportunity to explore a diverse range of activities by choosing a new one during each Choice period.
At our Bridgewater, New Jersey location, when our teens venture outside the camp premises, they strictly adhere to Oak Crest’s Travel Protocols for Safety. All Teen Travel campers and their parents are required to sign the Teen Travel Behavior Contract, in line with the protocols. Similar to other camp divisions, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs operate under the guidance of an adult Division Head. These Division Heads are responsible for overseeing the respective divisions within the camp and accompanying them on both day and overnight trips. Our dedicated Teen Staff is trained to effectively supervise campers in public spaces and manage the unique challenges associated with early adolescence.
