Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near Colonia
At Oak Crest in Colonia, New Jersey, our Teen Travel Program caters to 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students. Participants engage in camp activities while also embarking on both day and overnight trips. Specifically, 7th graders attend camp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day excursions. In contrast, 8th and 9th graders’ camp days fall on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with travel days scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Additionally, teens have the option to choose between 2- or 3-day overnight trips for added adventure.
At our Colonia, New Jersey location, our Teen Camp offers a structured group schedule, with campers organized into groups of 10-15, overseen by meticulously screened counselors. This schedule features two designated free swim periods, a variety of activities including the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a wide array of athletic and creative pursuits, and two Choice periods. These Choice periods empower teens with the flexibility to select their preferred activities, enabling them to explore a diverse range of options by choosing a new one during each Choice period.
At our Colonia, New Jersey location, we prioritize the safety of our teens when they venture outside the camp premises by strictly adhering to the Oak Crest Travel Protocols. All Teen Travel campers and their parents are required to sign our Teen Travel Behavior Contract. Additionally, similar to other camp divisions, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs are placed under the watchful supervision of an adult Division Head. These Division Heads are responsible for overseeing the division within the camp and accompanying campers on both day and overnight trips. Our Teen Staff undergoes specialized training to effectively supervise campers in public spaces and handle the unique challenges associated with early adolescence.
