Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near Cranbury
At Oak Crest, our Cranbury, New Jersey location offers a comprehensive Teen Travel Program for 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students. This program combines on-site activities with exciting day and overnight trips. Specifically, 7th graders attend camp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. On the other hand, 8th and 9th graders participate on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with travel days scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Additionally, teenagers can choose between 2-day and 3-day overnight trips to enhance their camp experience.
At our Cranbury, New Jersey location, our Teen Camp follows a meticulously structured group schedule. Teens participate in activities within groups of 10-15 campers, under the attentive supervision of screened counselors. The daily schedule includes two designated free swim sessions, engaging activities like the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a variety of athletic and creative options, and two Choice periods. These Choice periods grant teens the autonomy to select their preferred activities, enabling them to explore a wide range of options by choosing a new activity during each Choice period.
At our Cranbury, New Jersey location, when our teens venture beyond the camp premises, they strictly adhere to the Oak Crest Travel Protocols for Safety. Every Teen Travel camper and their parents are required to sign the Teen Travel Behavior Contract. Similar to other divisions within the camp, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs are under the guidance of an adult Division Head. These Division Heads are responsible for overseeing their respective divisions within the camp and accompany them on both day and overnight trips. Our Teen Staff undergoes specialized training to effectively supervise campers in public spaces and address the unique challenges associated with early adolescence.
