Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near Cranford
At Oak Crest in Cranford, New Jersey, our Teen Travel Program caters to 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students. These teens enjoy an engaging mix of Oak Crest activities while also embarking on diverse day and overnight excursions. Specifically, 7th graders attend camp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. In contrast, 8th and 9th graders follow a different schedule, participating in camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with travel days on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Furthermore, teens have the option to select either 2- or 3-day overnight trips to enhance their camp experience.
In our Cranford, New Jersey facility, our Teen Camp follows a well-organized group itinerary. Campers are organized into small groups of 10-15, overseen by thoroughly vetted counselors. The daily schedule comprises two sessions of free swim, engaging activities like the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a variety of athletic and creative endeavors, and two Choice periods. During these Choice periods, teenagers enjoy the freedom to select activities of their preference, enabling them to explore a diverse range of options by choosing a different activity during each Choice period.
At our Cranford, New Jersey facility, when our teens venture beyond the camp premises, we prioritize safety through the rigorous implementation of Oak Crest Travel Protocols. All Teen Travel campers and their parents are required to sign our Teen Travel Behavior Contract. Similar to other divisions within the camp, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs are under the watchful supervision of a responsible adult Division Head, tasked with overseeing the division’s activities within the camp and accompanying them on both day and overnight trips. Our Teen Staff undergoes specialized training to effectively supervise campers in public spaces and adeptly handle the unique challenges associated with early adolescence.
