Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near East Brunswick
At Oak Crest, our East Brunswick, New Jersey location offers a specialized Teen Travel Program for 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students. Teen campers have the unique opportunity to engage in a variety of Oak Crest activities while also embarking on exciting day and overnight trips. Specifically, 7th graders attend camp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. On the other hand, 8th and 9th graders participate on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with travel days occurring on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Additionally, teens can choose between 2- or 3-day overnight trip options.
At our East Brunswick, New Jersey location, Camp Oak Crest provides a structured group schedule for teens, ensuring a safe and engaging environment. Under the supervision of thoroughly screened counselors, campers move between activities in small groups of 10-15. The daily schedule comprises two free swim sessions, adventure activities like the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a variety of athletic and creative pursuits, as well as two Choice periods. These Choice periods grant teens the freedom to select their preferred activities, offering them the opportunity to explore a wide range of options by choosing new activities during each Choice period.
At our East Brunswick, New Jersey location, Oak Crest Camp places a strong emphasis on safety when our teens venture beyond the camp premises. We have established stringent Oak Crest Travel Protocols for Safety that all Teen Travel campers and their parents are required to acknowledge through our Teen Travel Behavior Contract.
Similar to other divisions within the camp, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs are overseen by a responsible adult Division Head. These Division Heads are tasked with the supervision of their respective divisions during camp activities and accompany them on both day and overnight trips. Furthermore, our dedicated Teen Staff undergoes specialized training to effectively supervise campers in public spaces and address the unique challenges associated with early adolescence.
