Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near Edison
At Oak Crest in Edison, New Jersey, our Teen Travel Program is tailored for 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students. These teenagers get the chance to participate in a diverse range of Oak Crest activities while also embarking on exciting day and overnight trips. Specifically, 7th graders follow a schedule where they attend camp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. In contrast, 8th and 9th graders have camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with travel days occurring on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Furthermore, our Teen campers have the flexibility to choose between 2- or 3-day overnight trips to enhance their summer experience.
In our Edison, New Jersey location, Camp for teenagers follows a well-organized group schedule. Teens are divided into groups of 10-15 campers, closely monitored by rigorously screened counselors. The daily schedule encompasses two dedicated free swim sessions, a variety of activities including the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a diverse range of athletic and creative pursuits, as well as two Choice periods. During these Choice periods, teenagers enjoy the flexibility to select their preferred activity, providing them with the opportunity to explore a wide array of activities by choosing a different one for each Choice period.
In our Edison, New Jersey location, we prioritize safety for our teens when they venture beyond the camp premises. All Teen Travel campers and their parents are mandated to endorse the Teen Travel Behavior Contract, reinforcing our commitment to safety. Similar to other divisions within the camp, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs are overseen by an adult Division Head. These experienced leaders are responsible for managing their respective divisions within the camp and accompanying campers on day and overnight trips. Our dedicated Teen Staff undergoes specialized training to adeptly supervise campers in public spaces and effectively address the unique challenges associated with early adolescence.
