Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near Flemington
At Oak Crest, our Flemington, New Jersey location offers a specialized Teen Travel Program designed for students in the 7th, 8th, and 9th grades. Teen campers engage in a dynamic array of Oak Crest activities while also having the opportunity to embark on both day and overnight excursions beyond the camp premises.
Specifically, 7th-grade students attend camp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. Conversely, 8th and 9th graders participate in camp activities on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with travel days scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Furthermore, teenagers can choose between 2- or 3-day overnight trips to enhance their summer camp experience.
At our Flemington, New Jersey location, Camp provides a well-structured experience for teenagers, emphasizing group dynamics and individual supervision. Teens follow a structured schedule, moving between activities in small groups of 10-15 campers, under the watchful guidance of carefully selected counselors.
The daily schedule comprises two dedicated periods for free swim, opportunities to engage in exciting activities like the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a wide range of athletic and creative pursuits, and two designated Choice periods. During these Choice periods, teens have the freedom to select the activity of their preference, enabling them to explore a diverse array of options by choosing a different activity during each Choice period.
In our Flemington, New Jersey location, the safety of our teens is paramount, especially when they are off the camp premises. To ensure their well-being, we maintain strict adherence to the Oak Crest Travel Protocols for Safety. Prior to participation, all Teen Travel campers and their parents are required to sign our Teen Travel Behavior Contract, underscoring our commitment to safety.
Similar to other divisions within the camp, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs are overseen by an experienced adult Division Head. These Division Heads are responsible for supervising their respective divisions within the camp and accompany the campers on both day and overnight trips. Our dedicated Teen Staff undergoes specialized training to effectively supervise campers in public spaces and address the unique challenges associated with early adolescence, ensuring a safe and enriching experience for all.
