Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near Fords
At Oak Crest, our Fords, New Jersey location offers a specialized Teen Travel Program for 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students. This program allows teens to engage in Oak Crest’s activities while also venturing beyond the camp premises through both day and overnight trips. Specifically, 7th graders attend camp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. In contrast, 8th and 9th graders have camp days on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with travel days occurring on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Additionally, teens have the option to participate in 2- or 3-day overnight trips.
At our Fords, New Jersey location, our Teen Camp follows a well-structured group schedule. Teens are organized into groups of 10-15 campers, each under the supervision of thoroughly screened counselors. The daily schedule encompasses two free swim periods, engaging activities like the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a variety of athletic and creative pursuits, and two Choice periods. During these Choice periods, teens enjoy the freedom to select their preferred activity, providing them with the opportunity to explore a diverse range of activities as they choose a new one during each Choice period.
At our Fords, New Jersey location, the safety of our teens is paramount, and we strictly adhere to the Oak Crest Travel Protocols for Safety when outside the camp premises. All Teen Travel campers and their parents are required to sign our Teen Travel Behavior Contract. Like other divisions within the camp, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs operate under the vigilant supervision of an adult Division Head. These experienced professionals oversee the respective divisions within the camp and accompany them on both day and overnight trips. Our dedicated Teen Staff undergo specialized training to effectively supervise campers in public spaces and address the unique challenges associated with early adolescence.
