Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near Franklin Township
At Oak Crest in Franklin Township, New Jersey, our 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students actively participate in our Teen Travel Program. This program offers students a unique blend of on-site activities and the opportunity to explore both day and overnight trips. Specifically, 7th graders attend camp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. In contrast, 8th and 9th graders have camp days on Tuesdays and Thursdays, while their travel days are on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Additionally, Teens can choose from 2- or 3-day overnight trips to enhance their camp experience.
At our Franklin Township, New Jersey location, teenagers attending Camp follow a structured group schedule. They participate in activities within small groups comprising 10-15 campers, closely supervised by rigorously vetted counselors. The daily schedule encompasses two dedicated free swim periods, engaging experiences like the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a wide variety of athletic and creative pursuits, as well as two Choice periods. These Choice periods grant teens the autonomy to select their preferred activities, fostering exploration and diversity as they have the opportunity to try something new during each Choice period.
At our Franklin Township, New Jersey location, when our teens venture beyond the camp premises, they strictly adhere to Oak Crest’s Travel Protocols for Safety. All Teen Travel campers and their parents are required to sign our Teen Travel Behavior Contract. Like other camp divisions, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs are under the vigilant supervision of an adult Division Head. These Division Heads are responsible for overseeing their respective divisions within the camp and accompany campers on both day and overnight trips. Our dedicated Teen Staff undergo specialized training to effectively supervise campers in public spaces and manage the unique challenges that come with early adolescence.
