Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near Green Brook
At Oak Crest, our 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students participate in the Teen Travel Program located in Green Brook, New Jersey. Teen campers engage in a variety of Oak Crest activities and have the opportunity to explore both day and overnight trips beyond the camp premises. Specifically, 7th graders attend camp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. Conversely, 8th and 9th graders attend camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with travel days scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Additionally, teens have the option to choose between 2- or 3-day overnight trips.
At our Green Brook, New Jersey location, Camp for teens follows a structured group schedule. Campers are organized into groups of 10-15, and their activities are overseen by thoroughly vetted counselors. The schedule comprises two designated free swim periods, engaging activities like the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a variety of athletic and creative pursuits, and two Choice periods. During these Choice periods, teens have the freedom to select their preferred activity, providing them with the opportunity to explore a diverse range of activities by choosing something new during each Choice period.
At our Green Brook, New Jersey location, the safety of our teens is of paramount importance, especially when they are off-campus. We strictly enforce the Oak Crest Travel Protocols for Safety, requiring all Teen Travel campers and their parents to sign our Teen Travel Behavior Contract. Similar to other camp divisions, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs are led by a responsible adult Division Head who oversees the division within the camp and accompanies campers on both day and overnight trips. Our Teen Staff undergoes specialized training to effectively supervise campers in public spaces and handle the unique challenges associated with early adolescence.
