Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near Hillsborough
At Oak Crest’s Hillsborough, New Jersey location, our 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students actively participate in the Teen Travel Program. Teen campers not only engage in Oak Crest activities but also have the opportunity to embark on day and overnight trips. Specifically, 7th graders attend camp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. Conversely, 8th and 9th graders follow a different schedule, attending camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays, while their travel days are on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Additionally, Teens have the flexibility to choose between 2- or 3-day overnight trips.
In our Hillsborough, New Jersey location, teenagers at Camp follow a well-structured group schedule. They navigate through activities in small groups consisting of 10-15 campers, under the watchful guidance of meticulously selected counselors. This schedule encompasses two periods dedicated to free swim, a variety of engaging activities like the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, as well as a diverse range of athletic and creative pursuits. Moreover, there are two designated Choice periods, during which teens enjoy the flexibility to select activities of their choice, providing them the opportunity to explore a wide array of options by choosing a different activity during each Choice period.
At our Hillsborough, New Jersey location, when our teens venture beyond the camp premises, they rigorously adhere to Oak Crest Travel Protocols to ensure safety. All Teen Travel campers and their parents are required to sign our Teen Travel Behavior Contract. Similar to other divisions within the camp, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs are overseen by an adult Division Head, responsible for supervising the division during camp activities and accompanying them on day and overnight trips. Our dedicated Teen Staff undergo specialized training to effectively supervise campers in public spaces and address the unique challenges associated with early adolescence.
