Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near Kendall Park
At our Kendall Park, New Jersey location, Oak Crest offers the Teen Travel Program for 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students. This program allows teens to engage in Oak Crest activities and embark on both day and overnight trips. 7th graders participate in camp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. On the other hand, 8th and 9th graders attend camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with travel days scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Additionally, teens have the option to choose between 2-day and 3-day overnight trips.
Camp Oak Crest’s Kendall Park, New Jersey location maintains a well-organized schedule for its teenage attendees. These teens follow a structured group format, typically consisting of 10-15 campers, all under the watchful guidance of thoroughly vetted counselors. The daily itinerary includes two sessions of free swim, engaging activities like the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a variety of athletic and creative endeavors, as well as two Choice periods. During these Choice periods, teenagers enjoy the freedom to select their preferred activity, affording them the opportunity to explore a diverse range of activities by choosing a new one during each period.
At our Kendall Park, New Jersey location, the safety of our teenagers is paramount, especially when they venture beyond the camp premises. We strictly enforce the Oak Crest Travel Protocols for Safety to ensure their well-being. All Teen Travel campers and their parents must sign our Teen Travel Behavior Contract, which outlines our expectations and rules. Similar to other camp divisions, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs are overseen by an adult Division Head, responsible for the division’s supervision during camp activities and accompanying them on day and overnight trips. Our Teen Staff members undergo specialized training to effectively supervise campers in public spaces and address the unique challenges associated with early adolescence.
