Teen Travel (7th, 8th & 9th Graders) Summer Camp near Manville
At Oak Crest in Manville, New Jersey, our 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students actively participate in our Teen Travel Program. This program provides a dynamic experience for teen campers, allowing them to engage in Oak Crest activities while also embarking on day and overnight trips. Specifically, 7th graders attend camp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays for day trips. In contrast, 8th and 9th graders follow a different schedule, attending camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays and dedicating Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays to travel days. Additionally, we offer the flexibility for teens to choose between 2- or 3-day overnight trips.
At our Manville, New Jersey location, our teen campers at Camp follow a structured group schedule, ensuring an organized and enjoyable experience. They are divided into groups of 10-15 campers, each under the supervision of thoroughly screened counselors. This schedule comprises two free swim sessions, a variety of activities including the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, a wide range of athletic and creative pursuits, and two designated Choice periods. During these Choice periods, teenagers have the freedom to select the activity of their preference, enabling them to explore a diverse array of activities and try something new during each Choice period.
At our Manville, New Jersey location, the safety of our teens remains paramount. When outside the camp premises, our teenagers strictly adhere to the Oak Crest Travel Protocols for Safety. All Teen Travel campers and their parents are required to sign our Teen Travel Behavior Contract. Similar to other divisions within the camp, both the 7th Grade Teen Travel and the 8th & 9th Grade Teen Travel Programs are overseen by an adult Division Head, who is responsible for the supervision of the division within the camp and accompanies them on both day and overnight trips. Our dedicated Teen Staff undergo specialized training to effectively supervise campers in public spaces and address the unique challenges associated with early adolescence.
